Is there a better mid-2000s "emo" song than this?
This song is an absolute banger, and my mind = blown where it even came from. Its not like My Chemical Romance was bad, but they weren't particularly GOAT either - in fact, none of these bands were particularly good. So where the eff did this song (which belongs on a GOAT pop/rock song list) come from - did they sell their souls to the devil for this song?
(For the emo "purists" out there, I'm talking about the pop-emo bands from the mid-2000s, not American Football or some chit. )
Just put this song on randomly the other day after not hearing it for years and my kids (who had obviously never heard it before) when it ended were like "whoa i love that song"

Solid. Always brings me back to college/high school. Not all technically emo, but certainly on the same playlists:
And of course, because I went to high school with Claudio (he was a few grades older)
I could go on for days

The beginning of Black Parade is legendary, but then it goes nowhere for 5 minutes.
For my money, themostemo song ever is MCR's Helena.
Gerard Way's singing is just gloriously awful here. You can just fukking HEAR his tears running and his snot bubbling. It is highly enriched, nuclear grade teenage melodrama.
And if we're talkingbest emo songs, like straight bangers, this is somewhere near the top.

Until The Day I Die by Story of the Year is both definitely Emo and a certified banger

That right there is a 11/10 emo song. So immature. So self absorbed. So good.

Never thoughts of these guys as emo. Don't know what the technical genre is, but I just always thought of them as "Avenged Sevenfold-Core"Not sure if it's better but this always takes me back
