He seems to have had a consistent posting style since 2020. Seemed more aggressive and miscerly prior (2017 and earlier), but I suppose it's not unbelievable he did some mellowing out while away for 3 years. Still seems like it'd reasonably be the same poster.

Dunno why he's sliding into women's DMs on LinkedIn calling them exotic though. That's some serious 'tism if that's the excuse we're going with.

Hereโ€™s a simple message thatโ€™s not creepy

Honestly you shouldnโ€™t be sliding into linkedin DMs, thatโ€™s inappropriate imo.

UPDATE:
I went to the gym and saw a buddy there. I spotted him on a few sets in between my sets (we were on different exercises). When I was waiting to do my next exercise, but still needed to spot him, he said, "Hey you should grab a 10 and do some Russian twists." It got me thinking. I iterated a bit then came up with a pick up line I wanted to use on a woman I saw there. I've seen her several times and I think she's very attractive.

I waited a bit since this woman was working out with her friend and I didn't want to have another disastrous approach. This woman's friend goes away for a bit, presumably to get water or something, and I approach her saying, "Excuse me, my buddy said to grab a 10 for this next set, so I was wondering if you're available."

She was taken aback by how good the line is. She laughed and IIRC even playfully threw an arm toward me. She seems really nice and was contributing to our short conversation. She asked me what my name is and she said, "Bikes are cool," in response to me showing her my bike helmet while getting my phone out of my bag to put her number in it (yes, I asked her for her number). She laughed when she saw that I keep my iPhone in the box it came in. I explained how it's to keep it safe in case I fall while riding the bike. She understood. Her demeanor was so fun and happy the entire time. It felt so good. I plan on texting her tomorrow. I think I'll say, "Hey [her name], it's [my name] from the gym. It was nice meeting you yesterday."

I'm not sure if I should say anything else or just keep it that simple and wait for her reply.

Looks like I'm getting an Unqualified Audit Report from Legbroke & Associates, LLP.

I figured that LinkedIn is an app and there are contacts on there that may be interested in speaking with an upstanding member of society, such as myself. I will be more cognizant of how the message is perceived prior to sending it. I see how it can come across as weak.

Ask here first before you say a single thing and ruin it.

You: "Hey [her name], it's [my name] from the gym. It was nice meeting you yesterday."
Her: "You too! That was a good line"
You: "Thank you. My gym partner suggested that I perform some Russian twist exercises with a dumbbell weighing 10 pounds. A thought (quite sporadic) surfaced in my mind that the "10" could be utilized as a double-entendre. Have you ever had a magical thought such as the aforementioned? I'm very glad you liked the line. You are strikingly beautiful, and I am very thankful to have acquired your phone number. How frequently do you peruse the gymnasium in which we had the pleasure of meeting?"

Lol. In the update above, I left out the part where I did indeed explain how I came up with the line. I also said it wasn't from ChatGPT, because if it were it would very PC and left leaning. She seemed to be smiling the entire time. I really like her.

P.S. I asked her how often she goes to the gym. You sure you weren't there?

It seems a bit dry though, eh? And it really was a squat rack, haha.

What about, "Hey [her name], it's [my name] from the gym. How's your day going?"

I'm going back and forth between my original text plan and this one. Hmm.

Thatโ€™s fine. Just stop with the formal punctuation. Use some short hand

Thanks. It feels impossible for me to go against what is so ingrained in me. I would think it may even be seen as attractive?

Going to send my first text to her in ~3 hours. Very excited.

Just sent my first text to the woman I met yesterday. Hope this goes well!

My message was, "Hey [her name], it's [my name] from the gym. How's your day going?"

LOL'd at the part where you showed her your bike helmet and keep your phone in the original box. I get this uncomfortable feeling I'm eventually going to see a story about you on the news where all your neighbors are talking about what an ordinary guy you seemed to be.

That aside, I hope things with the new girl go OK. That was a good line. Don't eat her, please.

No, I'm a good boy. No crazy stories like that.

Thank you for the well wishes. In my mind, I'm still replaying her reaction to the line. It's that response from a woman like her that makes me feel good, unlike anything else.

Haven't received a reply to my text yet. It's been 2.5 hours. I'm optimistic, of course.

I'm rooting for you OP. You remind me alot of myself in highschool. I was also a bit socially unaware (particularly around girls) and had a preference to rehearse lines to say to them for conversation. Sometimes it helps to not be so overly analytical and just do/say things that come to mind naturally.

Thank you for the words of encouragement. It motivates me to continue trying even when things aren't going my way. I believe what I'm doing is more akin to planning than it is to overanalyzing. For example, I believe last night's conversation with the woman I alluded to is the best first impression I've ever made with a female. The onlyplanned/rehearsedthing was the pickup line, but that served as a great opener. I'm trying very hard to get a woman I'm interested in to go on a date with me. The rest, I believe, will come naturally. That isn't to say that I'll forgo planning entirely.

It sounds like your behavior in person may be more acceptable because you get away with the extreme nerdy vibe, that some women can find funny.

But over text, your analytical and formal style comes across as overbearing, cold or inhuman. You do text like ChatGPT on simp mode.

The truth is you are entirely too desperate and too overbearing. So you need to hide that in the short term, or you'll scare every woman off.

tldr; do not send another text without filtering it here first.

My behavior needs work in order to improve, just as my muscles need work & recovery in order to grow. I try to be assertive IRL. If I come across as nerdy, well it's hard to change that since I'm just being myself in every approach.

I turnedRead Receiptsoff in the event I need to start uploading screenshots of texts here. I'm committed to this, and I appreciate the help.

As far as this new woman is concerned, it's been nearly 8 hours since I sent the text so my presumption is that she's not interested, but at least she's got my number now. It sucks because she's really attractive, seems down-to-earth, and we both go to the gym 4-5 days a week.

Thatโ€™s fine, thatโ€™s gonna happen. At least you didnโ€™t dance around like a monkey for amusement.

I know itโ€™s going to kill you but you have to stop using perfect grammar and punctuation when texting. Itโ€™s too formal and itโ€™s actually not the function of texting.

You should also watch the show called the Rehearsal with Nathan Fielder. You would probably like it

I'll see this woman at the gym and go from there. I don't plan to ask her out, but I'll be friendly and chat with her if she's showing interest (or as PUAs say: giving me "IOIs").

Changing the way I write in texts seems like acting. I can act, yes, but why act if being myself is perhaps seen as better? She may find me to be unique and intelligent, presumably unlike most other men who text her.

I'll watch an episode of that show this weekend and let you know what I think.

Also, I've been reflecting on this seduction-related TED Talk. Skip to12:16for the story of Casanova. Seems quite relevant to me.

I don't particularly think you need to stop using good grammar and punctuation. I don't think that's the problem. It's the content, and the formality of the content.

Would you ever say anything like "haha nice", or is even that too grammatically incorrect?

I'd probably say, "haha, nice". It fits with my general style of writing.

On an unrelated note, I've been texting the woman I used to have a big crush on (the one I dated on/off for over 5 months: end of Dec '21 - May '22) and she told me I should try Facebook Dating. I don't have a Facebook, but I may create one soon. I figure it's worth a shot.

Went to the gym. I weighed in at 174 lbs (with clothes on but shoes off). I may be slightly leaner than the 172/173lbs I was a few weeks ago. Since I need to add mass, I'm going to bump up the calories by several hundred per day and cut out the processed foods (e.g., breakfast & fruit bars, cheerios, popcorn, etc.). Still aiming for 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.

I saw the first gym girl (I'll refer to her asR) with a female friend. They came in just after I got there and sat down in the stretching area for my entire workout. I don't think they bothered to move or do any real exercise.

I saw an attractive black woman doing some exercises. I approached her between sets and asked her where she got the tattoo on her arm. She was friendly and I told her how I was thinking of getting a sleeve and said that I sometimes put tattoos on myself in Photoshop. I told her about a prank I pulled on my mom by sending her a picture of me on Mother's Day with anI <3 Momface tattoo. She thought it was funny. I asked her for her number and she said she's here with her boyfriend. I'm glad I approached her though because it was good experience and a solid interaction overall.

I know it's grammatically incorrect, I was trying to figure out how far you took this.

Would it irk or bother you on some level to send "haha nice" without the comma?

Formality and correctness might be a psychological block you need to break free of.
