Aurora CO is a chit hole

Going to be moving here for work. Parts of it literally look like the slums of Detroit.

Starting to regret my decision. Suppose to move here next week and don’t even have an apartment lined up, rip

Already accepted the relocation money and movers are scheduled to be at my current place Thur.

Currently unemployed so don’t really have a good way to back out.

Should’ve scoped out the area first before canceling all my other interviews.

To be honest I just thought Aurora was a nice quiet suburb of Denver. Haven’t been to CO since I was a kid but came out here this week to look at a few apartments.

Roads are chitty. Shopping carts line the sidewalks. Constant smell of weed.

Food and beer prices seem normal, but yea everything else you mentioned is true. A lot of apartment reviews I’ve read talk about homeless sleeping in their hallways.

One decent place I looked at is like $2.1k/mo, which in my current city would run like $1.5k

Colorado used to be a nice place before they became first to legalize weed. Unironically it had some kind of migratory effect where every deadbeat loser from across the US lived there. Now as posters above mentioned, it’s a third world ****hole with a negative aura of misery lingering over it. Especially Denver

Colorado is great. You should be happy. There’s lots of worse places to be. Sure Aurora kind of sucks but it’s not like you have to spend all your time there. Just judging from your Buckethead avatar you’ll fit right in here and will find plenty to do other than slumming around Aurora all day.

I am just amazed at how reckless people drive here, especially when the roads are so chitty. Also I don’t smoke weed and have no desire to, so that pretty much makes me an outcast here in CO.

I really just want the quiet suburban life.

Haha yeah, I got offered a new job and they wanted me to start in a month. They provided moving company and what not, so all I have to do is find an apartment. That’s why I’m in Aurora now. I also have a German Shepherd dog which makes apartment hunting even harder.

Lived in Aurora when I was little. From what I remember it was a pretty nice place. Looked up my old house a few years ago on Google Maps and the entire area looks like a ghetto now.
