Have A Samsung Phone? Check For This App

I just saw this and checked my phone. I purchased an unlocked Samsung phone from Amazon.







I don't know if the app will actually do this-




But if it has access to your location data it seems plausible that they could passively build some sort of score calculated on estimated carbon emissions for transportation.

Some are finding it pre-installed while other commenters say that the app was added to their phones as part of an automated update.

Thread reminds me wasn't there some Freedom Phone (lol) someone was peddling a couple years ago? Supposedly a phone with no tracking anything on it, no bloatware, etc? I'm curious what happened to that. I recall it was designed by some Chinese phone manufacturer either way lol.

My phone came with a bunch of pre-installed apps I can't uninstall. Just NFL and other crap apps, nothing serious. But still it's lame.

Of course you can if you know about it, or notice that it is there.

I found it's on mine along with various other stuff that is labeled "Samsung". On my old Motorola phone there were app files labeled Motorola and I never considered it was anything worth a thought...just part of the phone.

I bought unlocked from Amazon, not from a carrier. And the app is there. I would post a screen shot if I had figured out how.

It is between Samsung News and Samsung Notes followed by Samsung Wallet.

Don't have that on my tablet or my old samsung cell both are too old and I never update them. I've got this chit though.




Still trying to figure out WTF this chit is. Seems to be factory installed by Samsung. I forced stop on it. Can't seem to diable it yet.

All Samsung phones have bloatware. Not sure about other companies. I thought about switching to Apple, but doubt that helps for privacy.

Unless you plan on going back to flip phone, there's only so much you can do.

Currently waiting in the S24 Ultra too

WTF I never noticed that chit, I just checked my phones and the Global Goals apps was installed, I uninstalled it, but it says it needs permissions to my photos, phone calls, text, emails, messages.

My phone just updated last night and it still isn't installed.

I'm moving away from Samsung soon. I had to debloat with ADB more with this phone than about any other device I ever had.

I bought mine unlocked on Amazon.
