Just lmao at how AWFUL service is nowadays

Went to a mall recently to buy something at one of the non-main side stores. They had it locked up during prime business hours with a hand written sign saying "Out to lunch be back soon".

So, I went and wasted 45 minutes within the greater mall itself. Went to a Barnes & Noble. Saw a box set of Indiana Jones Blu Rays that caught my eye. Being a bit of a sucker for physical media, I decided to get it. Waited around at the special dedicated electronics checkout (they got anti-theft poles up to force them to be paid for right there instead of the main checkouts) for a bit. No means of contacting staff there, either. One end of the regular store checkouts had nobody there, so I go to the other side and ask a cashier if I can buy something in electronics. This emo chick tells me she will have someone sent over to let me buy it. Waited 10 more minutes before saying piss on it and leaving without it.

Then I wasted a bit more time to make sure I gave the original store I wanted to go to ample time (45 min seems pretty good to me, and who knows how long they were "out to lunch" before that anyway?) to return. Came back, and it was still locked with lights on and the "out to lunch" sign up.

Cliffs:

- Tried buying stuff at 2 places in a mall
- Both made me wait an eternity to be able to pay for my stuff/shop at all
- I said piss on both and spent $0 total

How the fuk do these places even make money anymore? Lmao

Completely agree

I made a thread not long ago about how lazy and dumb service workers are nowadays

I'll be at self checkout and obviously need a bag, and the employee that is supposed to be handing out bags is just standing there picking their nose like a dope, not paying attention

Idiots

yeah man idk, when I was younger I don't feel like they were this lazy especially around customers

I worked a grocery store job when I was in HS and if we slacked as a cashier/customer support we'd get yelled at, and rightfully so

Zoomers are truly the most worthless people ever to walk on this earth. The snowflake participation trophy generation that grew up never being told no.

They have the absolute worst work ethic ever, seem to prefer being absorbed in their phones 24/7, and have the most chit for brains ideas and concepts. Always having a god-awful attitude.

Basically just avoiding big cities these days. It's no wonder everyone just orders everything off the internet these days.

btw...i think someone made a good point about this being the selfish generation. well, everyone is more selfish now...it's a product of technology shaping our minds. if everyone is more selfish than people aren't giving any effort towards the "greater good"...it's all about ME -- even while on a job.

i do go to the mall...one of the few people there. only a few malls in the area are crowded so i avoid those. but i don't buy anything...it's just a good place to walk for exercise (those older mall walkers are right).

a crowded mall gives me an eerie feeling...like i'm at a mecca or shrine for consumerism

You’re a loser who leeches off society while forcing your kids mom to work to keep your family afloat. When it comes to discussing selfishness, probably best to sit this one out

I’ve noticed it’s more of a problem in urban areas, less of a problem in more rural/exurban environments.

Go to a fast food place specializing in chicken in the city: “whatchu want” “number 1 please” “we outta that” “Ok how about a number 4 then?” “We close bruh” “But your hours say your open for another 2 hours?” “What part of close did you not hear”

Meanwhile the inside of the place is trashed and smells like chit cause nobody is cleaning

Drive 2 hours away to the exurb and you’ll have prompt service with a smile

Well that's classic ESG hiring. Giving jobs to worthless people with zero work ethic because they have X skin color or Y identity.

Browsed through subreddits of some major retailers(target, starbucks, etc.) during boycotts and realized how woke these pos service workers are so now I treat them like sh!t too. No more putting back things where I found em, no tips, ask em to hurry up, complain about the food like a Karen, etc.

Make em and their corporate overlords grovel for my money.

tbh when i opened up my business, i promised to give good service to everybody.

its part of why i am so successful.

sometimes its as simple as copying another business, BUT giving good service to succeed.

Usually stay away from McDonald's, but yesterday after my workout I decided to get get breakfast there. Ordered on the app and went to go pick up up in the drive-thru when I noticed a yugee line around the building so I said **** it and changed my order to in store pick up.

Ended up waiting over 20 minutes in that McDonalds while these workers could not figure out their lives. I noticed that there was no rhyme or reason to how they were making orders so eventually I had to go up to the counter and tell the dude what I ordered and he grabbed it and gave it to me. Didn't end up paying for it LOL

Many other people got theirs the same way so McDonalds gave alot of free meals out that morning, drive-thru customers paid though LOL

You're not kidding. I swear, seems 75% of these places want tips nowadays. Tipping culture in America is truly reaching a tipping point where people are starting to say F it altogether on tipping, especially when all they get from most of the workers is bad/entitled attitudes and lousy service.
