metabolism is a bich once you hit 30
in my 20s i drank and partied hard, ate horrible post bar food and didn't train nearly as effectively and would wake up leaner
those skinny "ectos" that were born with abs can pretty much eat whatever they like and stay lean but will have a hard time building mass. bring on the cell tech at that point

Like the other poster, it was easy as late teenager. I ate whatever, and whenever and couldn't gain weight if I tried. Multiple sports, full schedule, and that peak age metabolism kept me there while eating tons of fast food, pizza, ice cream, etc.
Could never do that now, as the insanely small amount of that high calorie dense food that one could eat each day to stay at maintenance or lower would leave me starving.
There is that one in a million guy that can still do that at any age, purely genetically.

If you remain in a caloric deficit while eating junk food then yes.

I ballooned up during puberty but that’s also when I started drinking and smoking and stopped doing sports.
Now I’m very active in my late 30s, probably closer to 12% atm but I’m a skinny 165 twink so it’s more like I don’t eat and use junk food for quick calories so I don’t collapse from lack of energy.
