Been duped so many times on airbnb. Hotels give you privacy and staff dgaf what you do.

Every airbnb says "whole place to yourself"
Meanwhile the owner is staying upstairs in the loft. You know they are all up in your business with god knows how many hidden cameras

Only 4*+ Hotels/Resorts crew. Prefer having housekeeping and professional staff on duty during stay.

Tried Airbnb and Vrbo a few times, had a few bad experiences. Try to avoid it as much as I can.

resorts

used vrbo once. not a bad experience but not great either. but plans chance once in a while and cancellation policies on rentals aren't as forgiving as they are on most hotels.

I prefer hotel/resort. If you stay somewhere nice airbnb isn't even in the same league

Sleep at airport and venture out in the day, return & repeat, for entire duration of holiday. Like a based Tom Hanks in that airport film.

Totally depends on location, group, and type of trip. Most recent trips.......

Spent 10 days in Cabo in early December with the wife, stayed at Luxury Adult Only All Inclusive.
Spent Christmas at local ski resort for 5 days, got a large Air B&B and had multiple guests rotate through.
Spent the month of January between Barcelona, Paris, and Rome with the wife. We stayed in 4*plus hotels.
Spent two weeks in San Pedro, Belize for Spring Break with the wife and sons (18 and 15). We stayed in an Air B&B.
Spent a long weekend in April for a Bachelor Party / Golf Trip. Spent a night in Vegas at hotel, and then Air B&B for other 3 nights.

Interesting repetitive usage of the word 'Spent'.

You've bankrupted yourself haven't you, with these trips away?

Confess..

Hotels, I missed the boat on airbnb. At this point it's too expensive.

Also this

It would have to be a lot cheaper than a hotel for me to consider it.

hotel. generally where I want to travel, AirBnB is more expensive for what you get.

also, don't trust that owners don't put spycams all over the place
