How do people deal with not having a yard?

It doesn't have to be huge. But I'd hate my life without my yard, and my back yard more specifically

I have a yard/back yard.

I'd rather not. It's literally just upkeep I have to do. I'd fuking cement it in entirely if I thought that neighbors would be okay with it.

I wonder the same. Lot of homes on busy streets and corner lots at major intersections. Makes 0 sense to me. I gotta have a yard. Doggo gotta have a yard too.

Corner lot (not on a busy street) and it's the biggest PITA. BRB twice as much edging for an extra 4 feet of completely unusable grass. Hard to believe some newer subdivisions actually charge more for a corner lot.

I owned a rental home on a rough busy street. Large trucks like garbage trucks shook the house. Couldn't believe people actually wanted to live there.

There's a historic part of town with multi-million dollar homes. Intersection with a 4 way stop right by em, constant cars going by, some without mufflers accelerating all hours of the day, added pollution. Makes no sense.

2 acres of manicured grounds around my primary residence (and a lot more forest and streams beyond that). Used to take care it all myself, then as time passed even though I got less busy I valued my free time more now and pay people to take care of most of it. Sure is nice! Thinking of adding a trail through the woods.

Agree it's hard to imagine not looking across that rolling lawn to the lake.

I still handle the occasional windfall, satisfying blocking it up for firewood.

My main issue is I don't want to be on a busy street and I don't want to have neighbors attached or so close by we could put our windows up and pass items back and forth through them.

Currently on .33 of an acre and my neighbors on each side are on .33 of an acre (No neighbors behind just woods) so its significantly more bearable.


I want my next house to be on at least an acre or two of land though. F living smashed up against your neighbors homes.
