Yesterday was a bit hot on my run. When I was doing the final hill climb and my heart was racing in the heat I thought to myself I was glad I was a pureblood or I might have to worry about having a heart attack right now.

Because the more people were vaccinated, the less transmissible it was (even if you're young a healthy, the people you come in contact with may not be). Because it lessens the severity of COVID when you DO get it. Because the the effects of unmitigated COVID are far worse for your heart and other systems than the vaccine ever was/will be.

"The study looked at deaths in both Florida and Ohio during the first 22 months of the pandemic and found the overall excess death rate of Republican voters was 15% higher than that of Democrats. The gap widened further once COVID-19 vaccines were introduced."
Republicans would rather die to "own the libs" rather than admit they're fearful and easily manipulated themselves, something they love to accuse the left of.
As usual, more accusations of the left falling for "propaganda" when their entire arguments are based on feels ("just look around"), falling for the baseless claims of right-wing talking heads like Tucker and Alex Jones (meanwhile, every one of them took the vaccine in a heartbeat) or at best misinterpreting/not understanding legitimate data.
Two things I think conservatives are right to bring up or debate, even though we don't agree on the cause/what to do about it:
Pharmaceutical companies do not have your best interest at heart. They are largely private companies trying to maximize profit instead of solving for the best treatments. It isn't a coincidence that it's alot more profitable to keep people needing regular "boosters" and occasional acute therapy than it is to create more effective vaccines or straight up cures. It's not a "big pharma" conspiracy, its a very foreseeable consequence of neoliberal politics. Keep them sick and need of a subscription-based re-ups, even better if we can buy patents from public research and even get subsidies from the government to do so!
It can be a worthy discussion about individual rights when it comes to government mandated lockdowns. What is best for public health and personal freedoms in the midst of a pandemic are at odds with each other. People WERE dying and the hospital system was overwhelmed (no slack in system, more private "efficiencies"). Just because it didn't meet your personal definition of lethal enough for your health/age whatever, doesn't mean it was a warrantless exercise.

Hey, just because the jab came out in 9 months, and just because people were taking it the wrong way for over a year, and just because it required numerous boosters afterwards, doesn't mean it didn't work......

Yes, evidence continues to indicate that getting a COVID-19 vaccine is the best protection against getting COVID-19, whether you have already had COVID-19 or not.Nov 1, 2022
...
A study published in August 2021 indicates that if you had COVID-19 before and are not vaccinated, your risk of getting reinfected is more than two times higher than for those who were infected and got vaccinated.
While evidence suggests there is some level of immunity for those who previously had COVID, it is not known how long you are protected from getting COVID-19 again. Plus, the level of immunity provided by the vaccines after having COVID-19 is higher than the level of immunity for those who had COVID but were not subsequently vaccinated.
Getting vaccinated provides greater protection to others since the vaccine helps reduce the spread of COVID-19.
...
Idk about information suggesting it ever makes you worse off. Is that true?
...
Your link says 'mild and transient, more common in women. Suggest further study'.
They've found a lot of evidence about the relative risk for hospitalization and death being higher without vaccinations. And millions have taken these. If it were dangerous compared to the benefits, it would have been found out by now wouldn't it?
BTW OP was suggesting dangers to heart from getting covid itself, which is reduced in vaccinated population because people with vaccines have it for less time, less severe, and less likely to spread.
Surely you accept that the number crunchers do actually know how to do their job? They are mean or something? They're just guessing?

They DO know. The rollbacks started with multiple countries never offering the shots for kids, or pulling them. Then they did a sort of roll up by age in several countries. Now many countries no longer offer these injections and in some there is at least the beginning of a public acknowledgement that they did a bad thing whatever the justification may have been.

I kind of thought it was universally known at least a year ago that the shots do NOTHING of use regarding "stopping the spread".
As far as higher death rates for Republicans I don't believe that can be easily attributed to Republicans being overly self-centered. I imagine that there are health attributes which trend Republican over Democrat. The most glaring one is that Republicans trend older than Democrats and we know the virus killed many more older people than younger people.

Hi Katya - it's okay, we don't have to agree on every point. Happy to hold the L if I'm wrong on the scientific consensus of transmission rates. A quick check and I'm still seeing studies pointing to reducing household transmission rates and risk of infection in breakthrough cases as recently as 2023.

Do you disagree with the other two points regarding the vaccine or just the transmission rates point?
On the study I posted of political affiliation:
"Design, Setting, and Participants A cross-sectional comparison of excess mortality between registered Republican and Democratic voters between March 2020 and December 2021 adjusted for age and state of voter registration was conducted."
While you'd be right about Republicans being older and therefor likely sicker, excess mortality can be controlled for age in this study.

transmission:this has been disavowed pretty strongly to the point that there were statements being made that "we never said it would prevent infection" though in actual fact there were widespread claims made that the injections would "slow the spread" and that people who had been injected were safe from infection. The literal gaslighting by the official authorities has been rather stunning.I was at my ex's funeral in MI. He died suddenly post vaccination. We had a memorial service at a funeral home. Everyone had to show up in masks, however I definitely recall moments when no one was masking and the thinking was it was okay "because I'm vaccinated". I believe this may have been prior to the stories coming out about events like the Democratic politicians flying together without masks [because injected] and subsequently being infected with covid.
severity and hospitalization:the only claim with a shred of evidence backing it and the duration of protection is pegged at about 3 months, so you could have acquired 3 months of reduced severity in exchange 2 weeks of higher risk of infection and then a "negative effectiveness" which has since been witnessed, meaning the injected becoming more severely ill than the uninjected. The latter could be due to immune system depletion or a mismatch between the type of virus used for the shots vs. the type being contracted- a bad fit which could cause the immune system to fail to react defensively as it should.
risks from the virus vs. being unvaccinated:the injections do not prevent infection and they at best provide limited protection via immune system priming for a brief period while also exposing the body to a higher load of spike protein [altered though it may be] for a longer time period
I've honestly not put any effort into actively following the subject for quite some time. I see things if they randomly pop up. So I don't have a bunch of studies bookmarked or anything.
The most recent post I found interesting was about this video on data from the UK which has a centralized medical system. Someone in comments said jump to the 25 minute mark.

I haven't watched it. I'm trying to figure out what the heck I want and what if anything can be done about that, not stewing over what I can't control or fix.

Aren't we discussing a group of things, all of which are in the past?
1. Covid-19 vaccinations
2. Masking
3. anger about 1+2
1. Covid-19 vaccinations

3. anger about 1+2
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

So if the jabbies believe that 1 vs 2 covid deaths in the RCT is statistically significant, then they must acknowledge that 1 vs 4 cardiac deaths is also statistically significant.

I haven't watched it. I'm trying to figure out what the heck I want and what if anything can be done about that, not stewing over what I can't control or fix.

I clicked through your first link:
If we juxtapose a graph of COVID-19 deaths alongside Dowd’s own graph attributing spikes in excess deaths in people aged 25 to 44 to vaccine mandates and boosters (found on his website), we can see that spikes in excess deaths largely mirror spikes in COVID-19 deaths, a sequel of the Delta and Omicron waves seen in 2021 and 2022 (see Figure 1 below). This strongly suggests that the spike in excess deaths were the result of COVID-19.

Not all excess mortality is covid mortality. Nor is all excess mortality non-natural deaths [overdose, suicide, traffic fatality].If we juxtapose a graph of COVID-19 deaths alongside Dowd’s own graph attributing spikes in excess deaths in people aged 25 to 44 to vaccine mandates and boosters (found on his website), we can see that spikes in excess deaths largely mirror spikes in COVID-19 deaths, a sequel of the Delta and Omicron waves seen in 2021 and 2022 (see Figure 1 below). If you subtract covid mortality + you subtract non-natural death there is *still excess all cause mortality*.
A fellow who posts on twitter posted data as it was available from the CDC. This is his chart for 24 and younger.
But he has loads and loads of charts w/sources.

His post on how one popular chart has been manipulated to create a false impression.

Which side of this narrative has been shown to have lied repeatedly? Which side has a multitude of incentive to continue to lie and deny to the bitter end?
Have you considered that if it were fully proven that:
- the US [CDC or military] funded the GOF research in Wuhan
- that research lead to the creation and release [intentional or accidental] of covid-19
- the US FDA in concert w/pharma created and/or approved an injection which *may* create widespread disability and death
That the United States could be sued in international court for damages done to the citizens and governments of other countries? Or that it could escalate to the shunning of the US as a trading partner/ally? Particularly if the international community sees that we aren't prosecuting any of the guilty parties?
It's a very dirty business all around. Maybe look into what appears to have been a falsified trial by Pfizer on top of the usual data manipulation in their cherry picked results. I mean as in literally submitted results which appear to have been doctored/made up.
Or how about when Pfizer was taken to trial for fraud they replied that there was no fraud because they delivered what the US DOD/government had contracted them to produce??? Not that they didn't lie or make stuff up in their trial- that they did *what they were contracted to do*.
Here is a write up on adverse event data if you prefer reading to video.

UK: Note that the percentage of Vaccine Injuries classified as SERIOUS is INCREASING each year
COVID- Average Serious AEFI = 74.5% - Maximum 83.1%
2020 - Average Serious AEFI = 56% - Maximum 56%
2021 - Average Serious AEFI = 72% - Maximum 77%
2022 - Average Serious AEFI = 75.9% - Maximum 86%
2023 - Average Serious AEFI = 83.1% - Maximum 89%
An average of 96 Deaths per month

Normal expected for all (non-serious) Adverse Events Following Immunization is 3,623 (average).
For COVID that number is now 140,451.
Arguing 'just sore arms' doesn't cut it for the SERIOUS AEFI.
It should be 135 a year. Health Canada has published reports of 10,906 SERIOUS AEFI!
38 times greater for AEFI and 80 times normal for SERIOUS AEFI.
We need to create a new term for this as 'SAFETY SIGNAL' doesn't cut it anymore.

People literally get graduate degrees in epidemiology to be able to prepare and interpret the type of data that misc sleuths think they can poke holes in. If the scale of the conspiracy you all subscribed to was anywhere near what you claimed it to be, it wouldn't be just a handful of professional doubt merchants and mentally ill weirdos on twitter pretending they know better, every respectable doctor and epidemiologist in the country and world would be railing against it.
I'd love to know what braindead jobs you miscers work at where you would let some unhinged bystander with no credibility try to tell you that you don't know what you're doing in the trade you spent years training and working in. Or would you tell them to fk off because they don't even have a baseline understanding of what they're claiming? Why do we even have subject matter experts if miscers and twitter detectives are best suited for all jobs?

A recent study revealing young Americans have seen a 30% increase in heart attack deaths since the spring of 2020 is puzzling mainstream media pundits who must have forgotten about the experimental Covid jabs forced onto the world right at that exact same time.
