There's 3 different handlebar setups you can buy for it. I have the straight handlebar (the lowest) and it sets up where the saddle is 1 or 2 inches higher than the handlebars. Definitely comfortable. Keeps your head up so you can look around easily.

Went riding up in Pinetop-Lakeside, Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, White Mountains, whatever they call it now. Weather was gorgeous, 78F. A few sprinkles, hero dirt on the trail.

Trails - Country Club w/Pat Mullen Peak, Chipmunk Connector, Los Burros.

Got caught in a hail storm heading back to the valley, LOL. Didn't wear a jacket, just a short sleeve MTB jersey. Anyone going 80mph through a hail storm on a motorcycle... ouch.

Considering picking up a Thule Epos / Easyfold to make it even easier to have a bike with me (both can be folded together, and both have tilt so that you can access your trunk even with it mounted).



Got back into biking by buying an eMTB. Absolutely lunacy riding it on trails when it's my first full suspension bike.
Love climbing with it when doing longer zone 2 rides as well, but on flat patches I am missing a road bike.

Hmm, people smashing into the rack damaging it, the car and the bike(s) should be covered under my insurance(s).

Regards to thieves all the fasteners on the Thule racks has locks in addition to a wire lock you can buy as an accessory so that you can "ground" the bikes to the racks (in addition to the locks on the frame, wheels and the rack itself which is locked on the hitch).

If you have the bike offloaded you could potentially just fold the rack together and stow it in the trunk.

A negative with the Thule foldable ones is the price tag tho. Like 700-1000 bucks a pop.
The positive is the warranty, parts and extendable accessories.

Careful if you have a carbon bike and hitch racks. If the car's exhaust hits the bike, it'll melt the carbon, srs.

Yes, insurance covers the bike if the other driver has insurance.

If it's a hit & run type situation, you're on the hook for the deductible to file a claim.

Personally, love hitch racks. Makes it so easy to load and unload the bikes. Thule isn't the only game in town. A lot of hitch racks share the same features.

Well yeah.... If you don't mind contacting your insurance every 5 months to replace racks/bikes.

Again, this has been my experience. Your results may vary.

Night Ride at SoMo, Desert Classic.

Struggled that night, did not eat enough calories before the ride. Srs. Had 2 small meals that day, total maybe 900 calories. Ugh, my fault.

Finally put some uphill miles on the megatower. She climbs great and I can see why 29 tires are popular. I feel a lot more efficient on the new whip but that could also be thanks to weight savings and better gears LOL. haven’t had the issues of the front tire washing out, but I shifted forward a little more for turns so maybe that was all it took. Still doing a little fine tuning with the suspension setup so we will see

Haven't been MTBing because it's hot out, but I have been very much enjoying the BROMPTON lol.

I've had literally 15 or so people ask me about it, comment on it, etc. Every single time someone sees you folding/unfolding in front of the store, you get comments. About to cruise over to the store now and buy some steaks, can't wait to get asked how much it costs, etc etc etc.

Right now I don't mind the banter much, but I think in a year or so I'll be so over it.

Instead of training for the 2023 CrossFit Games this year, Rich Froning took on the Leadville Trail 100 MTB a week later. This past Saturday morning, Froning, along with over 1,700 other riders, set out to complete the 100 mile trail in Colorado on a mountain bike.

Froning would complete the trail ride in 8 hours, 32 minutes and 58 seconds (8:32:58), good for 287th out of all 1,787 riders; 249th out of 1,520 men and 50th out of 278 in the men’s 30-39 age group division.



In total, he averaged 11.7 miles per hour. And as many might expect, he paced the trek well, starting out in 85th after the first 11 miles and then moving up to the mid-50s in his age group about halfway through his ride where he would remain the rest of the way.

The overall winner, Keegan Swenson, blitzed the field and finished in under six hours with a time of 5:43:31!

Did a night ride (Country Club Loop & Pat Mullen) after setting up camp. The next day, a 28mile ride: Country Club. Chipmunk Connector, Los Burros.

I did 30 miles yesterday in midday heat of 105°f, 41°c. We had about 40% humidity so it was HORRENDOUS.

I hit the wall and had to stop for 40 minutes to recover.... Today I feel drained AF.

The only reason I started the ride was because it was cloudy, but the clouds vanished and I was already pretty far out.

Doing the sunrise rides DOES NOT acclimate your body for midday rides.

Temperature started to come back down in Phoenix so I got a very enjoyable 3 hours riding out there at sunrise.

Up at Sunrise Resort in Pinetop. Actually chilly! Better than 114 in the valley. lol

Arizona's only bike lift downhill park. It was super fun. Last time I was here was almost 20 years ago.

Cool seeing lots of AZ brahs in here. Its nice having Paradise Valley in my back yard. Wide open streets with almost no traffic. Had a white McLaren Senna pass me on the way home.

AZ is land of bikes I guess.

PRO TIP: I recently discovered that Stans tubeless sealant DOES WORK inside high pressure road tubes. I keep about 100 PSI in mine, and have been getting a lot of flats lately, so I added 1oz of STANS tubeless sealant inside my tube and it actually works. Had a nasty thorn in there yesterday and it was instantly sealed. I maybe lost 5-10PSI, so it felt as if nothing happened.

Nothing better than not needing to worry about getting a flat.

My rear tire was all fuked up, and I have to wait until Wednesday of next week for a replacement. Killing me to not be able to ride in the Fall weather.
