dont know the misc is against remote work. serious.
so Im supposed to drive 1hr+ to work and waste my gas. or buy a house/apartment close to my job just so a hew cant monitor me for 8-10hrs for only 2hrs of real work. everyone sweating and sitting on top of eachother. you cant even shtt cause public restrooms. and you have to waste money on food from fastfood restaurants or cafeteria
would drop the value of homes significantly if remote work was made commonplace. also eliminates the bias employers have for women
only ***gots that love to harrass you at work.with stories about their kids and dogs, and their plants like to go to work. I dont care that your husband annoys you. leave me alone ***got

The only people against it are those who don't have the option to work from home
Hybrid is best though imo

The whole getting paid 8hrs for 2hrs of real work thing might reverse over the next few years with interest rates higher and money no longer being free
Everything is super easy when companies can borrow at effectively 0%, that's not the case anymore and will likely necessitate increased efficiency

only jealous tradies, boomer executives, and bootlicking workaholics are against work from home:
Jealous tradies - you are working back breaking work, often in sun or rain, 9-5 while WFH bros make double your income sitting in A/C in their PJs just moving emails around.
Boomer executives - Greedy *******s who refuse to take the 10 good years they have left and sunset into retirement. Instead wanting to continue make more money as business owners (entreprenuers and executives all will own business or portion of business either privately or via stock options). They are incentivized to squeeze as much juice as possible from employees because they get all the rewards from it but mask it in words like 'innovation' and 'culture building'. Again, I get this groups motivatons but its funny when they are shocked to learn their employees dont give a chit about their company and want to WFH.
Corporate bootlickers - The only group I hate with a passion. These people arent in the business ownership/executive class, and likely never will be because they are too risk averse and beta yes men to do anything noteworthy. The WFHcels are the same in that they wont do anything noteworthy, but unlike bootlickers they realize this fact and accept the tradeoff for more freedom. These people usually define themselves by their work because something is lacking (either home life, personal interests and hobbies, personality flaws like self esteem, etc.). These are the snakes that made working in the office hell
tell me im wrong

Many miscers live to slob on the knob of the elite, corporations and the 1% so they get deeply offended that the real estate isn’t being used and the companies are losing money.
But that big ass post above covered everything. I’ve been full time remote since 2017 though, and that’s never gonna change. If the company tries to force work in office I’ll quit and land another job pretty easily since I’m skilled in the cyber security field.

I prefer to go to the office because:
- have a good desk, chair, monitor, light, etc. there while at home I was sitting at my kitchen table and I hated it
- don't want a "home office" home=home, office=office - keeps me more sane lol
- my commute is cardio (around 25 miles biking) which I also do voluntary
- I actually don't mind my colleagues to talk chit (srs)
this doesn't mean I don't want OTHER people to WFH, I couldn't care less

I agree with Elon Musk that there's a moral component to this, but I'm honestly mostly concerned with society plowing ahead at the quickest rate possible

I’m the same way. I can work from home or office. My office is in a vibrant area of Denver. My house is just a small house. It’s a 7 minute ish drive to covered parking where I have a private office and tons of boojie restaurants around to crush happy hours at. Best part is, I can bring doge into office with me. I love being in the office, but that’s my circumstance.
I could care less what other people do, but I do like going into office. I go 5 days a week and it suits me.

Aside from the commute, my main reason for hating being in the office is that my feet tend to overheat in my dress shoes. This causes me to have to run to the bathroom, take off my shoes/socks and start putting cold water on my feet to cool them down.
At home, this isn't a problem I just walk around barefoot all day. It's little things like this that really piss me off about being in the office.
