NBA Players Association Denounces Magic Donation To Ron DeSantis PAC

https://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...n-DeSantis-PAC
The National Basketball Players Association issued the following statement regarding the recent political donations made by the Orlando Magic organization to Ron DeSantis' political action committee:

“A political contribution from the Orlando Magic is alarming given recent comments and policies of its beneficiary.

"NBA governors, players and personnel have the right to express their personal political views, including through donations and statements. However, if contributions are made on behalf of an entire team, using money earned through the labor of its employees, it is incumbent upon the team governors to consider the diverse values and perspectives of staff and players.

"The Magic’s donation does not represent player support for the recipient.”
I bet they would have no problem with it if the donation was to biden/harris

What exactly is "alarming" about Ron DeSantis's policies?

Furthermore, what does the NBA have to say about the policies of Democrats who have been in charge of inner cities for the past several decades?

Then again, this is the same sports league that continues to do business with Communist China, who doesn't exactly have the best of human rights records.

The Magic are listed as “giving $50,000 to Never Back Down,” the presidential super PAC of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to Steven Lemongello of the ORLANDO SENTINEL. Owner Dan DeVos and his family are “longtime Republican donors and have given millions to the party and GOP candidates over the years.” However, “none of the DeVos family members are listed as having contributed to Never Back Down, just the team itself.” Magic spokesperson Joel Glass said that while the contribution was “listed as being on June 26,” the check was “dated and delivered on May 19, a week before DeSantis announced his bid for the presidency.” Never Back Down, though, was “specifically formed in March” by former Trump administration official Ken Cuccinelli to “urge Ron DeSantis to run for president”

Are you able to provide the full context of what you're describing without parroting a liberal media site? Are they saying slavery wasn't at all bad?

Or is this another "Don't say gay" liberal hottake?

Slavery itself was not good.....obviously.

However the descendants of slaves for sure benefited from slavery as it allowed their ancestors to have children who then became moms and dads and grandparents of a large % of black people who are now US citizens and alive.

If I was black and you axed me would I rather be ALIVE and FREE in the USA having had ancestors who were slaves, or have never been born or living in Africa?

I would say alive and free in the USA every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
