It's not just salesmanship. It's telling people the obvious who are too oblivious to recognize it. Girls just want to have fun. Be confident and assertive in what you do but also have a good time and don't be such an uptight hardarse. Having a slight smile or just a relaxed openly expressive face brings down many people's social guards and they just feel more naturally comfortable or inclined to talk to you.

Saying hi or just a quick smile is all it takes to open the door. The rest is up to how well you can control and navigate a conversation.
