Not in a HCOL area, but you'd do fine anywhere else if you budget properly

Honestly, not bad if you know how to budget.

This.

I raised a family of 4 in newly built 2018, 2900sqf 2-story house. We ate like kings, and took many vacations to theme parks in cali, camped, traveled, had fun.

Depends on all sorts of things like location, age, industry, debts. IE making $60k after $300k of law school debt aint chit.

Indeed posted an article last week givingmedian salaryby age range in USA, and $60k is above the annual median for all age ranges, but not by a lot. I think that this is PRE-tax though. So your $60k POST-tax is pretty decent, means you make like $75k or something.

I think it all comes down to, how much can you save/invest per month outside of your CoL and debts. If the answer is $2k+ you're doing good. $3k+ you're doing great. $4k+ you're lucky or smart AF.
