Rate Steak Dinner Out Of 10 (Pics)

Tasted Fooking amazing.

-Aged Ribeye with compound butter
-Pickles/sauerkraut/Roasted Red Pepper mix
-Raw Milk Cheese

Didn't feel like cooking up anything else with it so just did some pickled/fermented veggies and like 1/3 block or raw milk cheese.

A little pissed I forgot to take off the steak at 120 internal instead of 125 because I did a long baste on this bad boy. Forgot basting raises it a lot more so the steak isn't a good deep medium rare. Still was amazing and extremely tender.

That steak is cooked the way I like it, not bloody, a nice flavor char on the outside and medium in the middle so you dont get parasites.

But ill pass on that pickle side dish it might make me puke lol

Butter is fantastic for you. It isn't that much butter either. Those slices are thinner than it looks. But I also butter basted it with thyme and did the initial sear in Waygu beef tallow.

I love pickles/sauerkraut/kimchi type stuff now. My taste buds have changed a ton the past few years. I started eating it for the pre/probiotics mainly. Haven't had acid reflux in years.

I was going to make sweet potato fries and fried onions but decided I'm too lazy right now to make an actual side.

I never tried kimchi after high school that stuff is good for the gut? it felt like it was burning a hole in my stomach lol

I like Sauekraut though.

That steak just made me hungry for real buttered and juicy with nice crust to it, dam the flavor must have been off the wall, did you eat the entire thing or half only and saved the rest for later?

With red meat I have to consume it in smaller portions, for gut and digestive reasons, I feel it helps me break it down better as I get older. I eat a lot of eggs though thats my main protein source and been adding in bean soup home made style.

It was definitely more red than it looks here. You're right chef brah. But like I mentioned in OP, I did mess up a bit taking it off too late because I forgot basting has more carry over during resting than usual so not a typical deep medium rare which I usually have.

Well I only get really mild kimchi because I can't deal with really spicy or sour stuff. I got the spicier type of kimchi the first time I tried it and couldn't eat more than a spoonful from the spice (I'm pathetic with it). So only get mild then.

Yea I took down the whole thing like nothing. Have a watered down glass of lemon and apple cider vinegar an hour before you eat (drink through a straw) or eat sauerkraut/kimchi/pickles a little bit before you eat. It helps digest everything way better. I used to have major digestive issues from H. Pylori in the beginning of 2020 and I cured it all then figured out how to get rid of all digestion issues. No more acid reflux/heartburn, upset stomach, etc. That's why I always at least have a bit of fermented food once a day if I eat a big meal.

I actually usually make 2-3 eggs with my steak too lately. Eggs are my second main protein source behind red meat.

Mirin. We all have our preferences on sides but no way could I live with myself if I didn't cook up some seasoned roasted potatoes with a good steak. Like the Gods are smiling down on you, it is.

I actually prefer steak like this rather than a deep red. However, I started eating my burgers more red in the center, which doesn't make sense.

It was like 7pm when I cooked this so I didn't feel like cooking anything else. I'll usually have something like this plus either my speciality sweet potato fries with chimichurri (my summer go to), or like a cilantro lime rice and grilled peaches.

My next thread will be a better all out meal. I'm make misc proud.

Bro I got gut issues too, over age 35, I think I might have to do another cleanse with cabbage, apple and carrot fresh juiced, that healed my ulcer feeling in my gut 10 years ago I had like some gastritis or something and I healed it but I had to struggle with the cramping and gassing at night drank that for like 5 or 7 days straight and it worked.

Cabbage juice fresh squeeze kills H Pylori bacteria
