Oil frackers decided to pump more because of higher prices. No idea why their activity is associated with a President. Oil prices would be a lot higher if there were confidence in the US economy, or if China wasn't in a recession, while faking that they aren't. Oil demand from China peaked in the first quarter of this year and is down.

The Greens don't like that not only did Biden reverse the leases, he's opened up parts of Alaska for oil exploration that will start pumping oil in another 5-10 yrs. After promising to destroy the fossil fuel industry. If he'd have continued with his economy destroying executive orders of his first few weeks in office Biden would have been assassinated. If reality hadn't bit his controllers in the ass we'd have a worldwide depression now.

It's a damn shame Biden drained most of the SPR of oil, as frackers could have made up the difference last year, but for political expediency he drained it instead of letting Americans increase supply as they can and now are doing.




The problem now is Saudi Arabia is unilaterally decreasing supply and have signaled they will continue to do so. Unfortunately playing ball with them has been a necessity for decades, so it was an epic fail for Biden to schit talk and ether them since he was a candidate. It's a good thing for the price of oil that the Russians are back to selling as much oil as they were before, or else DIESEL would be back to $5/gallon nationwide average, which would have inflation back to 2022 levels.

It's almost as if domestic producers react to the oil prices. Too bad we haven't had a new refinery built since before I was born and they have to always be running at around 95% capacity, which is insanity levels that by themselves raise the costs of end product gasoline and diesel. Refineries of any size take boatloads of cash and years to build, so perhaps not telling them we're going to put them out of business and the Greens in Congress preventing new refineries might actually be a good thing.

EVs are not a viable solution for decades unless you count hybrids as EVs.
