I probably won't shower today because I showered yesterday afternoon after my workout. I will wash my hair tomorrow.

Sounds like you don't shave every day tho, which would explain the beard too. I'd either step it up and shave daily or commit to some kind of facial hair. The in-betweener look is just kind of sloppy, and the rest of the image you're going for is like more IT professional.
I use a safety razor, and it's phuckin sick, but it is more time consuming than a cartridge razor shave. On the good-fast-cheap tradeoff, it picks good and cheap.

I don't think I'm OCD. It's definitely possible for me to type with bad grammar. I am not an English know-it-all. LOL. Okay, I will try that line on someone. I'm currently courting a female I met this past Wednesday and we've already got our first date scheduled for next Saturday. I'm so excited to see her. I feel like we've been building chemistry over text and it will be much easier to escalate to a kiss after the date.

Also, can't help but notice that "you're" is being used correctly in the quote above and I thought we were trying to get him away from that haha...

My training program is all right. My chronic pain is NOT it. It sucks, but I've been taking a ginger and turmeric pill every day as a way to hopefully decrease inflammation. Everyday I stretch and rub my back and shoulders on a tennis ball. I was able to do pull ups twice this week and deadlift twice (once conventional and once sumo). I may get something on video when I deem it to be mildly impressive (whatever lift it is).
I've been cutting since 1 week ago. I am going to get really lean (hopefully around 8-9% body fat) then maintain it for a while then do a slow, methodical bulk to gain size.
For reference, I flat benched 155 lbs for 12 reps a while ago with more in me. I was around 170 lbs. I mostly do dumbbells now for bench, although I do close grip barbell bench to work my triceps. My best flat DB press since March of this year is 75 lbs for 2 sets of 8 reps. I imagine that's going to go down since I'm cutting. Other lifts may improve because of improvements to technique and repetition (e.g., sumo deadlift). I imagine I'll get to 10 strict pull ups in a row again fairly soon.
Yeah, you are right. I feel like being concise, assertive, and confident are great ways to set myself apart from the average guy. I also try to show my sense of humor. Who's showing me signs of interest? The single mom is not into me, but the woman I met this past Wednesday seems to be. She's texted me very long messages - at least a dozen in the past few days. I like her and am excited to see where things go.
Thank you, sir. I wrote my bench numbers above in my reply toFitnessYoutuber.

Your shaving setup sounds awesome. Yep, refills on the cartridges are expensive. I will look into changing my shaving tools. It hasn't been too big of a deal for me, but I know I'd be happier with my shave if I could use a straight razor. I remember admiring the close shave I'd see on some guys in TV shows.

This thread is painful to read but I can't help but root for OP. Everything is going pretty brutal so far though.
You seem to be somewhat okay irl so I'd advise you to text as little as possible and have as many irl meetings as possible.

OP, you seem like a good guy. I hardly ever misc any more, but this thread caught my attention and I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents (hopefully you're not trolling)Why do you think I'm trolling? I am not trolling. That actually happened.

I think you've gotten decent advice here in general, but not all of it has been good. Just gonna spit some thoughts out at random here.
I think your hair looks best in the first pic you posted of the new haircut. Don't do the forward/messy thing.
The advice you have received about how to text/converse with women is generally good in that you do seem to tend to overshare, and make things more complicated than necessary. However, if my impression of you is right, I think you're looking for a quality girl and something meaningful, not a one nighter from some bar sloot. That should come through in your interactions. You could maybe stand to be a tiny bit less formal, but I would def err on keeping things the way they are, instead of purposely texting like a 14 year old. Don't force slang or swearing or anything like that. You're an adult, and you're looking for a quality woman, it's not "cool" to come across like an idiot. I would pretty much write off a woman who didn't write/speak properly.
This brings me to my next point, DO NOT listen to PUA bull****. That stuff is for losers looking to fool sloots with their insincerity for long enough to bang them before the girl realizes he's a loser. You could stand to keep things a bit less wordy and a little more casual, but you can do that while still being yourself. Quality girls don't respond to PUA bs. And girls who are flaky or give short responses with no emotion or questions for you, well, they're not really interested. You don't have to be rude or cut them off or something, but when you get responses like that, you can pretty much assume it's unlikely to go anywhere. You can stay open to the possibility of her reaching out again or something, who knows maybe she was just having a bad day. But don't devote too much more time there, it's wasted energy. The type of responses this newest girl gave you is more what you're looking for. Exclamation marks from her are a good sign she's interested, as well as her asking you questions.
Hope this helps a bit. Tl;dr is take advice (which you have shown you are willing to), but still be yourself. If you're looking for something real, what's the point of pretending you're someone else just to get a foot in the door? She will see the real you eventually, and you want someone who likes the real you. Good luck

For example, I've approached 6 women in the gym and 3 of them have given me their number. The 3 who didn't give me their number have boyfriends (I know 1 of them does for sure because he was working out with her, but I didn't realize they are together at the time). This is a small sample size and I'm not implying that I have a 50% chance of getting any woman's number at the gym. I have a date lined up for this upcoming Saturday with a woman I met this past Wednesday. She's been texting me every day since this past Thursday and seems to really like me. I agree about IRL. I have a better chance IRL b/c I can try to be unique and build rapport, which is impossible to do over text.
Once you've been on a few successful dates, if the chick is into you, she won't mind the ultra cringy texting abilities and just take the full package. Regarding the looks, I don't think looking somewhat nerdy is bad. It's 2023, there's not that much of a stigma surrounding nerds anymore. Besides that, it's who you are so they'll find out at some point anyway.

Good luck

I am looking for a quality girl, yes. As I wrote recently, I would not mind being with, for example, 10+ women in the next year or so if it meant I could gain experience and a better understanding of what I'm looking for in a life partner. That may sound stupid, but I honestly haven't been with that many women. I have been with 7 total in my life, and a couple of those did not involve penetration. Yeah, changing the way I write just to dumb down my responses is not what I'm about. I got the job I have now because I'm aprofessionalwho cares about the quality of his work. I also happen to enjoy writing. Yeah, unintelligent behavior in a woman is a turn off for me.
I think hearing PUAs out isn't a bad thing. I liken it to gaining a wider perspective. I may or may not agree with what they're saying, but I can listen and take in bits of information and potentially use some of it but in a different way. Kind of like being inspired by someone else, not necessarily imitating them or reciting their words verbatim. The single mom is exactly that. I'm not going to tell her off or anything because that isn't in me. I've never done that to a woman. I am fine with having her number in my phone and the ball being in her court. I try not to think about her now - it was a nice experience and I fantasized about being with her. The woman I met recently is a breath of fresh air. Her and I have so much in common and she's sexy. I'm really excited about seeing her IRL again.

An action cannot be the same every time with a woman because each scenario is different. I think general guidelines (e.g., making eye contact, being assertive, etc.) are worthy of being followed, but I'm not sure that asking a woman out IRL is the right play if her and I have just met. I feel like you could graph that with looks on the y-axis and time on the x-axis. The more time one gets to spend with a woman, the less good looking (to a point of course) he would have to be in order to get a number (that's my theory, at least). Why? Well why would she give her number to someone who's barely spoken to her? Likely only if she's attracted to him. It takes time to build rapport. There are of course other reasons for her giving her number out, such as not wanting to hurt the guy's feelings or not wanting to potentially create an antagonizing situation b/c she knows she will be seeing him again (a likely consideration for someone I approach at the gym).Getting a number is nothing if you fuk it up every time. The texting was overbearing and oversharing, which is why I advised leaning towards IRL as much as possible in the early stages. Once a woman builds emotional connection, the nerdy texts won't matter as much. They might even become an attractive trait to her (in a funny way because it's so autistic).
I'll say a couple of things I've observed so far:
- I think OP is pretty far along the autism spectrum, which is hindering his ability to correctly empathize and (likely) build social connection with women, or even understand what's socially appropriate (e.g. DM'ing on Linkedin). So even outside the context of dating, I'd highly recommend in-person therapy to help with all aspects of life and social. Which should help generally improve quality of life.
- I don't think escaping personality is even feasible or maybe even desirable. Maybe just embrace the nerdy part (while addressing the autism), and find a woman that connects with it. I was going to suggest some types of nerdy meetups like book club, chess club, etc. where nerdy women are likely to be.

I do get your perspective about wanting to gain experience, that's understandable. But don't base your value on the number of women you've slept with. That's degenerate behavior. My number probably wouldn't be considered that high by most people, but the women I've been with have been attractive, intelligent, very successful women, in the context of a serious relationship. There is value to learning what you want/need from a partner. But you should also value yourself enough to know who's worth your time, and who isn't. What do you think you'll learn more from, 10 relationships with girls who are flaky and immature and fizzle out, or one or two serious ones that teach you about yourself and what you really care about?
I also understand what you're saying about the PUA stuff, but I think you need to be careful. I mean no disrespect, but I don't know that you have enough experience to separate the wheat from the chaff. How do you know what is good advice if you don't have much context in which to place that advice? I would personally advise you ignore it altogether. You have to figure things like that out for yourself, and that comes with time and experience.
I think you are right to seem hopeful about the new girl. Based upon the message from her that you posted here, and the fact that she is texting you regularly, she seems promising. Again, good luck.

It may only turn into a date or a rejection. However, it may turn into me meeting my future wife. The current alternative is don't approach anyone at the gym and rely on apps (I'm only on Tinder atm) for trying to meet someone. I've already experienced how incredibly frustrating the apps are. IRL is so much better. I think you said some similar things to what I just did in my previous post. I agree about the therapy. I am considering things based on how much progress has been made. Assuming I don't have a loving girlfriend within the next several months, I will make more changes. For example, I am seriously considering surgery to improve the appearance of my nose (get rid of the deviated septum), but it's not something I need to book immediately since I'm in the process of getting lean and working on myself in other areas. It's as if I need to check certain boxes before other boxes are unlocked. I'll keep approaching women at the gym and see where it goes. If it isn't working well, then I think hanging out at a bar or going to a nerdy meeting is appropriate. One of the best things OP has going for him is his inhibition. I see what you mean about PUA. I'm not following any PUAs, but I've watched some of it before. The progress I've made since I started this thread is much more than the ZERO progress I made from May '22 - June '23 (yes, over a year). Thank you for the well wishes regarding this new woman.
