They should have done this a long time ago. Venezuela isn’t officially dollarized, but this helped their economy a lot when the dollar became their de-facto currency about 2-3 years ago.

They're dealing with 100% inflation due to their poor economic structure. Dollarizing their economy takes the ability to print pesos out of their hands and they'll have to deal with reality.
