Why scientific research is utter bullsht
As someone surrounded by the world of academia, it's very clear why there isn't research on certain issues ie women's sentences being shorter than men, imbalanced economic costs for men in divorces (studies actually purport that women have higher economic costs, which is laughable), general racial disparities only being publishable if they are minority oriented.
For example, I have first-hand witnessed a project where white men were found to be the vulnerable group and it get torn apart. No journal is going to publish that because females and cucked liberal men will whine and cry. It also explains the narrative of why conservatives are often considered poorly-educated rednecks who don't believe in science. When the current 'science' (if you want to call it that) will pretty much only publish one side's narrative. A world-renowned oncologist was discussing with me how someone had published a paper finding associations between females and unfavorable behaviors and the italian journal was getting death threats from females all over to withdraw the article.
TLDR; science is mostly bs, unless you're looking at purely basic science research. Even basic science research is often stretched (leaving out data, deceptive techniques, rigging reviewers,etc) and I worked with a female professor who would actively encourage this type of behavior to get out publications.

I agree and partially why I discontinued my biology degree. Usually if you follow the money and funding, you can find bias in almost every study. It's really easy to manipulate a study to get desired results. Ideally all studies should be peer reviewed but that rarely happens for chit that matters. The fact that biologists are giving into gender studies is baffling to me... Not all, there are still biologists who believe in chromosomes, but the fact that it's not universal is disheartening

The 'reviewers' want the authors to cite the reviewer's papers to increase their h-index so they can get promoted to associate professor.(make tenure) Authors and reviewers often have relationships and big names in the field will get published (and added to papers with no contributio) to high impact journals. Big names are usually editors in journals and are deeply connected with other journals -- the whole system is laughable. Not to mention the amount of nepotism that also goes down...
You might say I'm crazy but I have literally authored articles published to top 'renowned' journals and attend a top East coast research institution for grad school. I've even seen people write up papers shtting on men, patriarchy, legit making up issues like the pay gap on studies completely unrelated to keep their circle-jerk going. I could go on and on...
Like I said, 95%+ of research is utter bs. Not all of it, so you have to keep your eyes peeled but ask yourself if the findings make logical sense.

Had a very similar experience as you, OP. Once you start seeing it, you can't un-see it and you realise how utterly corrupt the vast majority of 'science' is. It's part of what made me sceptical of the covid vaccine, I tried to explain to people how easily scientists can be corrupted by money from big pharma and I was treaded like a looney. 'Are you an expert? No? Then stfu and follow the science' lmao meanwhile I was absolutely correct to be sceptical.
My general stance now is that if I hear a scientific claim that seems counter-intuitive or opposite to my general observations I take it with a very big grain of salt.

Humans are political creatures and I agree academia is infested in politics. Low self-esteem social outcast nerd politics (one of the worst). "Peer review" says it all. Might as well read "Circle jerk". But science as a concept isn't to blame, it is the leading knowledge system, it's the people doing the science. A lot of science is just a place to keep the socially inept nerds as extermination camps are controversial, still a lot of good and practical science being done. Maybe AI should get into science.

IIRC the overarching idea was that women are more likely to promote what is socially acceptable vs. what it objectively true if the truth might hurt someone's feelings or an accepted narrative or agenda.

Academia has just become more and more polarizing, while I never got to your level I did get to witness "a few things". It also doesn't help that the media like to prop up bs studies or not prop up other studies because it doesn't make for a great headline and isn't what people want to hear.
Also you find nowadays it's more women than men in universities and in these positions. It's like 60%/40% women/men. No offense to women but they should not hold power and sway in major institutions.
People like to complain about the "patriarchy" and that how we are in one right now (lol). If men are already getting the short end of the stick in this "patriarchy", just imagine if we lived in a matriarchy lol. I'm actually convinced that if a matriarchy were to ever exist, men would be treated 20x worse by women than men have treated women in the past. Unfortunately, women are just way more susceptible to groupthink, concerned with fitting in with their group, have that time of the month and love to play the victim and not take accountability for their actions, even though they were the ones that caused the harm.

I had a friend in college who asked a girl if she wanted to workout together and she reported him to the Principal investigator for sexual assault, who removed him from the project. Just fckn lol at how common "sexual assault/harassment" is these days and playing victim. It's the same people who get divorced and call their genuinely good ex an abuser and gaslight themselves into thinking they are better off.
I've even been backstabbed by a chick in a project she couldn't even take to the finish line (lmao) saying I was trying to take all the credit.
