Or could it be that Americans didn't like what MAGA was selling?

MAGA was focused on 2 things in 2022 - abortion (as you mentioned) and the 2020 election. Even if life is worse under Biden, MAGA wasn't offering anything better.

Personally, not perfect but my life has gotten better pretty much every year I've been alive.

I don't credit Biden or any other politician for that though, it's been a result of my own decisions and effort. If your life isn't where you want it to be I'd suggest looking inward for solutions, not to Trump or the "system" or whatever you think is keeping you down.
