Anyone gain muscle on keto diet?

Considering eating super low carb diet because carbs make me feel sleepy as **** and less productive throughout the day. Am I gonna lose all my gains?

post what you look like...
you'll probably lose size/weight depending on how you workout. If you do typical bodybuilding type reps, then you've been training for sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, or the ability for your muscles to store more glycogen and look bigger.

Think the main purpose of keto is to lose weight while losing a minimal amount of muscle. At least that has been my experience. You will probably lose some muscle mass.

Eating too much carbs gives me gut issue and makes me feel like **** unfortunately. It's a shame since carbs are much better source of fuel for high intensity workouts than any other macronutrient.

This is Shawn Baker when he ate the standard American diet at 44 VS 8 years of only eating meat at 52.

He doesn't train like a BBer or anything but he lifts. Supposedly completely natty and no TRT. I haven't seen his blood labs but from what I've heard his T isn't anything spectacular if anything he needs TRT.

Definitely great progress for someone his age especially if he's natty like he claims.

He's a big proponent of the Carnivore Diet. He showed his blood labs to critics awhile back so people could see he was healthy and one of the major points they attacked him on was they thought his T was too low and it could be optimized if he ate more then just meat.

The argument over his physique was not whether he's natural vs enhanced. It was that he's natural and needs to change to his diet to improve his natural testosterone production or begin TRT.

Shawn maintains he feels great with his T levels and does not want to go enhanced. I haven't seen his labs and don't know what his T is at. But it was generally accepted he has lowish testosterone at 54 and that's the level of muscle/leanness he achieves eating only meat.

I personally find I perform better with carbs. Only noting you can have a pretty good physique if you don't eat them. Here are three more doctors that are proponents of the Carnivore diet in their 40s-50s that are jacked eating only meat. I'm sure if you look around you can find a lot more guys in the keto space. I don't follow Keto only carnivore guys so here are some examples. None are BBers though.

I was on purebred keto in 2013, 2014 and half of 2015. Gained a lot of muscle, as this is what I was after. Also seriously trained in boxing club, wasn't going for a fight but sparred regularly.

As for gaining/bulking, keto works only in tandem with weekly carb loading (supercompensation) so that you are never really adapted to keto. I finally got fed up. Would be ok if I was young and going for Olympic games, the lifestyle is more for a professional athlete.
