You really want "cheap" for something you want to defend your life with? GTFOH.
I guess you can be a normy and buy a Glock.

Don’t go too cheap
But reasonably priced and easy to carry as well, look into an M&P Shield

just buy a glock

When you realistically think about it, any gun that is reliable will work.
If you are inside your house and have to not only draw down on some guy but actually shoot him, whats going to happen? You shoot him and the bullet just bounces off and he just gets mad and keeps coming at you?
Thats like zombie level tv stuff. If you get shot inside a house, its going to hurt and hurt a lot.
Sure, the guy might be drugged up but if thats the case you have more troubles anyway.

i am and for years have been a huge fan of the S&W M&P either 9mm or .40. some people will tell you to blindly buy a glock or some other brand but go to the range and try a few out. M&P fits my hands way better than any glock or other handgun ive tried. got a friend who likes glocks while i like M&Ps.
i CC an LCP2 but thats like a 7-8 shot and shot, not good for home defense.

I built a subsonic suppressed 300BO for my home defense. Expensive, but I don't have to worry about mine or my family's hearing from shooting.

Glocks 17 or 19 aren't too expensive. Around $500
PSA Daggers (Glock clone) Around $300
AR-15: A lot more for a quality AR plus decent optic. Ideal, but not a "best cheap option".

I like Model 10s for revolvers.
Glocks are the gold standard, but there are chit tons of Glockalike clones in the $300 range that will run fine. The basic Glock striker design is very reliable.

I have a friend who just ordered a suppressor and he said he will still probably still use hearing protection, but he said it was borderline whether he needed to or not.

Ermox Xfire looks interesting, but I wouldn't buy one. Not proven and questionable ergonomics. Feel makes a big difference to me.

If you want to just buy something and keep it locked up and hopefully never use, get something like the Taurus Judge, which shoots 45 or 410 shotshell. Load it up with the 410 and its a mini shotgun, just aim in general direction and you'll be fine.

I’m curious to know if there are actually cheap gun brands now. Like are there known brands on par with great value and stuff like that?
Because I know $3-500 will get you a quality Glock or SW piece, which seems cheap to me for a gun. Are there really guns you can buy for under $200 or so?
