covid, wars, financial system crash can 2x 3x 4x the cost of living within a few years. plus zoomers are spending 200k for their education and $50k on a car lmaoo

We took a 20% haircut at the very start of retirement (retired Nov '21, markets crashed within 6 months). But it's mostly recovered.
If we ended up taking a 20-30% drop and it was extended over 4 or 5 years, that might do it.
It'd take a lot to make me go back to full time work ever again though. Just the thought of having to wake up every morning to show up on someone else's schedule sounds terrible. I feel like I barely have enough time to do anything and that's with zero commitments. I don't even know how I used to accomplish chores with 40 hours cut out for someone else.

problem is most people, let alone miscers know anything about investing. Therefore, they need a much bigger nestegg to retire. Not only that, most people think they are going to have an extravagant lifestyle - one much different than they currently have. I always find that amusing. Like...f@cker you live a boring ass life now. What makes you think that will change when you retire? Why, because you have more free time? You don't even value the time you have now, when you have next to no time and you think that will change later? Lol
