Ever feel like the only person on earth without Tiktok?

It's not like I don't watch videos online, I just prefer several minutes of focused content. The random, bit sized videos just doesn't appeal to me. It also seems crazy addictive, and people can just watch it for hours.

Anybody else here that doesn't get it?

Do not have and will never have TikTok crew checking in.

Although they still get their hooks in me sometimes because those short form videos get reposted to youtube shorts, which I do consume.

I feel like I have it even though I never did. All my friends and wife send me TikTok videos constantly. Thankfully they send me dog videos. I get so irritated seeing people do these stupid ****ing dances and lip syncing like that's some quality content....

I hate that youtube is adopting this style. Search for a documentary and it shows me 14 second clips of a half finished idea.

Youtube also doesn't appear to let you disable shorts either.

Honestly miscers should just use it. It is way more entertaining and useful than other social media apps.
The HBB content is on insane levels.
It covers every pastime or hobby imaginable.
It learns and figures out what you like pretty quickly.
Its got as many boomers on there as zoomers.

I'm surprised Op can't get into it.

I have TikTok but I typically watch the lives of the most random ****.. they’re soothing . Sometimes I watch these women pack nail art orders lol.. or people scratch scratch tickets.. it’s before I go to bed and for like 10-20 mins otherwise I’m actually not addicted to TikTok.. the short videos are pretty stupid . I do watch cute kid videos though haha

Whenever I want to watch something hobby related, I just search for it on YouTube. Gaming, chess, keyboard tips, stand up comedy, and an intrusive thought that makes me look up information on the subject. My most random things are when people I subscribe to release a new video, then I'll decide if it's worth watching or not depending on the subject.

I can’t deal with the annoying computer generated voices on those videos. And I hate how they spend seconds making shallow and imprudent points about complex and nuanced issues. They make a mockery of thoughtful discourse.

I don't have tiktoc but I will say that those 1 minute youtube shorts are addictive so I try to stay away from them. You'll spend an hour without realizing it. I prefer long form content. I feel like I usually learn something when I watch a 20 min video on a subject but a 5 min video I feel like I could've just read a wiki article

You have to have very strong will power to quit and only use it for so many minutes per day
