None of the current candidates strike me as all that amazing. Of everyone currently in the race, definitely not Vivek. I like Ron DeSantis and a lot of what he did down in Florida, but he doesn't seem to be able to make the crossover to the national stage very well. His campaign has been absolute garbage with useless "reboot" after reboot. At some point, that comes back to Ron himself.

My first choice would be someone like Kristi Noem. She had the wherewithal to understand that she would have been throwing away her political career/chances at national politics would be over if she tried running against Trump, an issue that DeSantis vastly underestimated for himself. My hope is that Trump pulls Noem for the VP nomination, squeaks out a nail biter against Biden (a Trump/Noem ticket would be pretty strong), and then she'd be primed to run herself in 2028.

It's probably all a pipe dream, though. Although I'm alright with Trump for the most part, I can't put it past him to mess up the VP pick, although Pence actually made a lot of sense for Trump at the time in 2016.
