gonna go hiking this weekend, need help

prob just gonna do sunrise to sunset, nothing too much
what equipment do i need?

going to west virgina prob

if I dont get out im just gonna drink and do nothing all weekend

backpack food and stuff, water, idk

Do you know how to use a compass and map? If not, a GPS device would be useful. I would probably pack a water purification kit as well.

Water and a way to communicate is the #1 thing if you’re going alone. Always tell someone where you’ll be and that you’ll check in with them at a certain agreed-upon time. Bring something in the way of first aid like antibiotic ointment and bandaids. That’s about it if you’re only doing a day and no night. Bring a cliff bar or something to eat.

Yeah I do, used to go to camps. have a watch as well with gps.

You might think “oh I’ll be fine lol” but if you’re an hours walk away and you break your ankle, or slip and hit your head, or you get lost and your phone doesn’t get reception, you’ll be really fukin glad you told someone where you were when rescuers find your ass and save you later on, instead of you dying. Srs
