How come in these discussions people never make a distinction between a few cells in the first few days and weeks of pregnancy and an actual baby at eight or nine months of pregnancy who is moving around and is self-aware inside the mothers belly?


This has always been the weirdest thing to me, how come people are either for or against abortion? Is pregnancy really the same thing at one day versus nine months?

I have a lot more to say about this than this one real life example. Ex girlfriend who was violent and deceitful (legit stole my credit cards, maxxed them, and said she knew nothing about until cops pinned her) got pissed when I broke up with her. Never apologized. Said she was pregnant with our kid. Sent me sonograms. Told me she aborted, because fuk me. Don’t even know of they were real.

The problem, in my opinion, isn't whether abortion is legal. The problem is the absent visionary conception of the child in the mind and hearts of those that conceive them physically.

If you ever plan to have a child you have a vision. They are never a mere clump of cells. They are something you are projecting into the future, imagining their lives and who they will develop to be.

This is something that happens before they are even a clump of cells, and after they are conceived you don't think "great, we made our clump of cells!" They are already fully realized in your heart and mind as you anxiously anticipate their birthday.

Not planning to have a child you have conceived doesn't make them less human than the ones you do plan on.

So many people having no vision for the lives they help create is not good for them or for society. You can dehumanize the unborn but you open the door to dehumanizing everyone.

That, in my opinion, is the true harm. Industrial scale abortion diminishes the value of human life.
