Am I the only one who doesn't like traveling (flying) anymore?

What is everyone's obsession with inconveniencing themselves so much and burning their money?

I'll admit when I was a kid it was fun...But now that I'm an adult all I can think of is how much of a pain in the ass it will be..

Too much money, flights are worse than ever after RONA and there's more delays/issues and "hidden fees" than ever before

I'm talking specifically about flying...I'm still okay with road trips

Can't relate. Travelling overseas is fun af. Going to SK in a month, might do Italy next yr

I've flown in, on or under 100's of different aircraft and legit feel like I've used up all of my 9 lives already.

The only way I'm getting on another one now is if I'm flying it.

And I could do it, too, because I've always watched the pilots work and it doesn't look that hard.

I love flying now more than ever. Even sat last row middle seat a couple weeks ago on a 5 hour flight to California, and it was great.

So many TSA agents have a stick up their ass.

My family is in Michigan so the only realistic way to see them is flying. Flew out to Detroit for a week this January. No fkin snow, which I was looking forward to.

Get global entry and clear. You hardly ever interact with TSA or US customs that way.

I travel all the time and it's still fun. Trying to head back to Japan at the end of the month before the DR with the wife in October. It can be exhausting at times but I'll rest when I'm dead. Or if I get too drunk and pass out in the room.

I fly Maybe half a dozen times per year or so, sometimes more

- tsa precheck is a must

- only first class, use my points for united premiere lounge chit when I need to so I get the good treatment and better bathrooms

-lucky for me I'm usually flying to visit my mom, and I keep a spare set of all my essentials there so I can just walk on the plane with basically nothing but my iPad and headphones

If you know what you're doing, and have some extra money, flying isn't that bad. I'd you ha e a bunch of bags to check, no tsa precheck, it's a crappy experience.



And I always fly out of Newark Airport which is busy af 24/7

High fees, long waits, crappy airport food, flying with fat and disgusting people, attendants are not friendly and customer servicey as they used to be due to rona, security takes forever

The thing that grinds my gears the most is when planes take 30 ****ing minutes to start and take off even after the flight is fully boarded. All of that preparation and engine check should be done before hand.

Went to Colombia last month and flew domestically to get around the country and planes literally only took 2-5 minutes before takeoff after it was boarded.

Global entry includes TSA pre. Since getting GE Ive spent probably a total of 10 minutes waiting to go thru security (newark airport). When i got home from japan the customs line looked to be 2 hours long. Global entry put us around all those ppl and straight to a custom agent who just ushered us through. We were waiting for our bags.

After spending 14 hours on a plane, i can probably go anywhere domestic ezpz now.

100% agree. I went out of the country with family members over the summer and it's probably the last flight I'll ever take. The airports are crowded. Security is a pain in the ass with TSA yelling at people. Every flight is full of chitty low life people.

Those aren't xray machines, if it makes you feel any better. they use radio frequencies to bounce off metallic objects that may be hidden on your body.

I am currently interviewing for a job that will require flying on a semi-regular basis and dreading the thought of having to deal with obnoxious "bus people." There once was a time when only the middle class and higher could fly and it was amazing and relatively drama free.

Don't travel in summer. Very few of my trips are between Memorial Day and Labor Day. It's usually to somewhere like Phoenix where no one is going in summer anyway. Overcrowded, expensive, just not fun. Shoulder season is where it's at.

i like it but the price of rental cars and hotels has gotten berserk.

brb like 3yrs ago i flew from cincy to denver and the day of, i rented a car for $9/day. three day trip was under $50. now no matter where you go especially to CVG or DEN is min. $80/day with taxes or usually more.

but little do these kunts know i may have found a work-around since im most likely gonna be flying in there often-ish.
