I’m not even a religious person but I see it ALL THE TIME.

People will be at rock bottom (junkies, gone to prison, lost limbs in an accident, lost loved ones in a tragedy, etc.), their lives in shambles, yet somehow, someway they find Christianity and it’s like a switch gets flipped. Now they’re positive, energetic, have good paying jobs, tons of friends, opportunities seemingly fall in their laps. And it’s like immediately after they get born again.

Dunno if I believe it’s literally Christ’s intervention, but I’ve noticed it too often anecdotally to ignore. There’s gotta be something to it srs.

Typically because it's accompanied with making better choices.

Go from no morals, to morals.

I'd wager its more the former. It feels good to believe there's a reason for why things are the way they are, or that its all a test and that some "Being" is looking after you, and is secretly in control. It makes the individual feel at ease that they're not "alone" which reduces stress which in turn lowers cortisol levels which reduces inflammation in the body. Less inflammation in the body means lower blood pressure, less pain, and wounds that will heal faster.

Truly mankind is at his best when huddled in the dark in the bushes, staring up at the stars in terror and confusion, banging rocks together, believing in superstitions.

I know the religious folk will take offense to this post, but there are some truths to this. If we just sat around and relied on faith for our lives to get better and didn't question phenomena that we often attributed to the almighty power of god then we probably wouldn't be where we are technologically.

However, it is one thing to proclaim you are something without living it. I'd say just as many "religious" kunts are just as bad, sinful or broken than someone that is agnostic or atheist simply because they don't act in congruence with what they preach or believe. It's not some magic spell or words you say that makes you some holy being in any way, and a lot of times the worst kinds of people hide behind these things to cover their evil.

SO it really boils down to what you DO and how closely you live towards the will of God than preaching, labeling or talking about it while you "do as thou wilt" through life. That's actually even worse imo.
