The finer things are like not having to push mow a lawn, and then cope about sweating for gratitude or something. It literally costs $75 to have an acre mowed. Then there's the whole being able to afford more than McDonald's. A lot of things you say are the kind of thinking I did when I was poor.

Best thing is, I put in a bit of work a few years ago, and I am set for life, and I don't have to cope about it.

I enjoy push-mowing lawns. I like the exercise, sun on my skin, the sweat, the smell of the grass, seeing a well manicured lawn revealed little by little.

You see my friend, not everything that is physically demanding is a chore and heavy burden. Some things can be physically demanding and enjoyable at the same time. You mentioned weight -- for people carrying extra weight I totally recommend push-mowing their lawn or the lawn of someone they know.

Yes, it only costs $75 to mow a lawn...maybe $150 to paint a bedroom, maybe $300 to detail a car -- but these are things I ENJOY doing for myself or my parents. You claim to enjoy whatever you do at work for 30+ hours a week so are you open to seeing how I can enjoy things others may consider work?

You sound very poor in thought. Sometimes class isn't something people can buy unfortunately.

Everyone in my life is fully taken care of. In fact my daughter will be able to select her first home from my collection when she's old enough and shows me proper maturity/humility/responsibility.

I've never disclosed my actual income. I have said that I live on around $20k/year and can whittle that down to as little as $12k/year. My home is paid for, truck paid for, no debt.

I've seen, and written in, some of these eddiehaskell threads before.

I do like the idea of minimalism and appreciating life over consumemaxxing / materialism.

But OP, aren't you kinda looking at the inflation and the economy, and thinking "oh chit, I will need to start working soon?" I know many people who delayed things such as: retirement, house purchase, weddings, etc. just because of how crazy it has been in the last few years, srs.

Fast food menu items are like $10+ after all.
