Braves lose 3 of 4 to the Dodgers. You heard it here 2nd.

Braves will win in the playoffs though.

Just saw the headline of Mariners being in first place. Holy sh*t they've been putting in some work the last couple weeks. 19-5 this month. Good for them. Granted I have no faith they'll end up on top but still, good for them for now.

Edit:

Last week or two of the AL West could be epic. Seattle plays @TEX, HOU, TEX.

Seattle will probably need to give themselves a little cushion these next 3 series agains the A's, Mets and Reds. If they can do that they'll have a chance.

Given up on the season. Game sucks these days. Starters never go past 6th. Watching last night Red Sox game was an embarrassment to professional baseball

1. Catch doesn't bother trying to get on his knees and block a ball with his chest protector, 1 run scored
2. Chris Sale can't make it out of the 5th inning and they bring some scrub who was pitching in the independent league to finish 5th. Sox take 1 run lead 4-3
3. Scrub walks first 2 guys, Altuve hits a triple, he ends up walking 4 guys and hits 3 batters in the inning. Cora lets him die out there.
4. Scrub forgets to cover 1st base on a ball to 1st. Broadcasters on NESN never mention a word.
5. Red Sox bring up their 3rd best prospect who is so immature that when his manager called him to tell him he's going to Boston, Dumb rookie didn't answer 2 calls because he was playing PlayStation
6. Rookie comes into the game in the 8th, Kevin Youkilus who lost his IQ with his hair says "he moves and reminds me of Mookie Betts."
7.Rookie swings at 1st pitch and singles. THEN, get doubled off 1st on a pop-up to right field down 9 RUNS. Not a word from the broadcasters.
8. Altuve hits for the cycle, Scrub gives up 11 runs in 4 1/3.

The whole league is a joke. Go Braves.

Seems that some teams don't really value catcher defense. They want a catcher who can hit more. Or maybe there just aren't many defensive catchers who can hit at all. Braves did well to get Sean Murphy who actually can do both but is an "automatic out" according to some people.

Dude seek help. At least half your posts in here are related to me unprovoked.

I thought you had active discussion in your Yahoo league with all those smart baseball folks? Must not be that stimulating if you keep showing up here begging for my attention. You're welcome for giving it to you today.

Also Ozuna and Arcia were the automatic outs. If you want to take jabs at me at least get your sh*t together. Murphy was simply a mediocre hitter if considering him as a catcher or below average hitter overall.

P.S. Arcia has been hitting .200 for the last 20 games.

Can't hate him for it because he's played above and beyond what he ever was expected but when October rolls around and he's striking out with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out helping opponents escape a rally then don't say I didn't tell you they needed a better shortstop. No one is rooting for this to be the case, but he is who he is at the end of the day. Only people like you, who thought the Braves could get away with being cheap, will be expecting a different result from him.

Strider’s start pushed back to line him up against the Dodgers

Strider, Fried, Elder, Morton now

You don’t think this series matters to the Braves? It most definitely does

Grand Slam Acuna!

First player with 30 HRs and 60 SBs in a season! F*ck the Dodgers

Edit:

Home Run Derby! Riley getting in on it now

Corey Seager has quietly had a very efficient season that's been overshadowed in the AL by Ohtani.

Not meaning to compare Seager to Ohtani for MVP here, because the pitching gives Ohtani the obvious nod. But just looking at their hitting and factoring in Seager playing less time, I did not realize he had been so good in the limited playing time the year.

Seager: 91 games, 365 ABs, 26 HRs, 81 RBIs, .345 avg, 1.065 ops
Ohtani: 133 games, 491 ABs, 44 HRs, 98 RBIs, .305 avg, 1.067 ops

Rangers gonna waste it and choke their way out of the playoffs though lol

Dodgers announcers crying hardcore about reviews not overturning a couple calls where there was definitely not enough evidence to change the call.

I guess that's what happens when you're triggered on the verge of a 4-game sweep completed on you.

Braves basically clinched best record in baseball this weekend. Feels good man.

Only 25 games left. 5 games up on Baltimore. 6 games up on the Dodgers. Tiebreaker against both of them.

Schedule is weak as f*ck too. STL, PIT, and WAS (x7). 13 games against bottom of the barrel teams out of that 25. The rest is against Philly, Miami, and Cubs. Even if we play .500 baseball (which won't happen but let's just pretend) the Orioles and Dodgers won't pass us.

As a Dodgers' fan, I don't see anyone even coming close to the Braves in the playoffs. Maybe the Cubs will get lucky but it seems to be bleak.

Anyone can beat anyone in the playoffs, but the braves look amazing. Imagine complaining about how they're run.

You could really argue this one is already wrapped up to be honest.

NL Cy Young - Clayton Kershaw

Lots of guys in the running for this one. You could get 5 guesses midseason and still might not pick the eventual winner.

NL MVP - Ronald Acuna

I almost want to say Luis Arraez for the simple fact of how much he means to the Marlins this year. Guys like Acuna, Carroll, and Freeman who are also in the running have much more lineup support. I'll stick with Acuna, but Arraez is having a special year.

AL Rookie of the Year - Josh Jung

Not quite as certain as the NL award but also a wide margin for Jung

AL Cy Young - Shane McLanahan

I'll give him the midseason award because he's deserved it. But I'll also go out on a limb and say Gerrit Cole ends up being the one to win it.

AL MVP - Shohei Ohtani

If we're only allowed to consider hitting and fielding for MVP then it's Ohtani. If I'm also allowed to factor in pitching then it's not even a debate. The rest of the AL is having trash seasons relative to what you'd expect an MVP to have.
Corbin Carroll remains the obvious winner

Clayton Kershaw got injured right after this post and stopped pitching, shocker. Granted I did say it was wide open and anyone's guess. It still is, but who would have guessed Justin Steele is in strong contention in September?

Ronald Acuna still the frontrunner, but Betts and Freeman have both at least made mini pushes. Acuna still comfortably in control for now.

Josh Jung has kind of been quiet and let others catch up. Not sure he's the frontrunner any more but he's not out of it either. Lots of players involved in the AL ROY now. Gunnar Henderson probably the choice if it ends today.

Shane McClanahan also got injured, but like I said in the post I always expected Cole to win out. Right now Cole has assumed the favorite position

Ohtani was also obviously locked up back then like Carroll for ROY

Urías on that Chris brown time.

Ain’t no way he pitches for Dodgers again .

All that money lost at free agency. Over a girl.

Tough.

He was one of my favorite Dodgers since he came up.

Kershaw and Bobby Miller ain’t enough to survive a long post season.

But I’ll be watching still with zero expectations.
Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. I don't know, Marcell Ozuna got arrested for domestic violence and he's back to dropping bombs for Atlanta this season. Urias probably won't be pitching the rest of this season though. Someone gonna get him cheap in the offseason though and LAD might be the most likely to give him the chance tbh.

Ain’t now way. Especially libtown Dodger jews.

They ruined Bauer’s career and nothing was proven.

Urias was the reason they won a fake World Series. Saw him come up at 19. It’s just wild he’s done with. All over a GIRL. Homie left
Millions on the table.

Tbh I don’t fuk with the dodgers as much the last few years. This is probably least favorite team in recent years

Not gonna lie, happy that he's done for this year for sure. Dodgers and their fun going on a nice little streak in August but thankfully the Braves cooled that momentum and Urias going down is a well placed dagger to any thoughts that team had about putting something together in October.

Dodgers pitching is trash if Buehler doesn't make it back. And even if he does, how much can you really expect from him being thrown right into the fire of October?

Everything still looking good for the Bravos on the NL side of things.

Wait... you mean to tell me if he actually committed domestic violence he won't pitch next year? Thanks for that shocking revelation. I had no idea something would have to actually change, like you know not being guilty, for him to have a shot to suit back up.

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Julio Urías was placed on administrative leave indefinitely by Major League Baseball on Wednesday, three days after the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher was arrested on suspicion of corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

The leave was imposed under baseball’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy adopted by MLB and the players’ union in 2015 and can be the first step toward a suspension. Players are paid but cannot play while on leave.

“They have to go through the process — players’ association, Julio’s group. Baseball is working through this,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said in Miami.

MLB and the union agreed to the leave, which did not specify a length.
Absent an agreement,
MLB could have imposed a leave of up to seven days with the possibility of a seven-day extension.

i never knew the policy

Take 3 of 4 against Philly this week and get to celebrate the NL East crown on their field.
