Do you belive Francis Ngannou punches harder than Wilder?

Apparently Ngannou has the Guinness world record for punching some machine but I'm not sure if Wilder has punched it.

I ask because people are saying fury has "never felt power like Ngannou" but personally I think he has.

Personally I think Wilder hits harder

Here's my favourite Wilder ko

I don't think an untrained boxer is going to last more than 1 round vs fury. Don't care how hard he punches. He won't land a clean punch on fury. If fury doesn't play with him for fun it will be over before it starts.

Hard to say cause Ngannou's ko's are with 4oz gloves, but he does have about 50 lbs on Wilder.

Maybe in the first two rounds but there’s no way he can keep that power throughout a fight like Wilder can.

Fury will make him miss until he gasses out then just box his head off until he TKOs him.

Having a more powerful punch means nothing if he doesn't have the skill to land a punch on a moving target.

It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

Ngannou is an athletic specimen, but by admission, he boxes at a local MMA gym type level. The heavyweight champion of the world has nothing to worry about.

The UFC's dirty secret is that their talent pool is piss poor. Ngannou is the baddest man in heavyweight, but aside from him, it's like Muay Thai fighters who tap at a headlock (Gane), or incarcerated former D-2 offensive linemen (Lewis).

Dana pays his fighters nothing, so athletes with any other options go elsewhere. Even among the thin pool of wannabe fighters, MMA has a long learning curve, that Dana also refuses to finance with a development league paying more than a bag of Cheetos. Ngannou is the best of the bunch, but "the bunch" are pretty underwhelming.

And boxing has the same phucking issues. Deontay Wilder was a former D-2 basketball forward, who only started training once he needed money for his sick daughter. If a phucking borderline JUCO level basketball player can pick up boxing at age 20 and make 10 straight HW title defenses, imagine what a good athlete could do.

This is sort of true. I remember reading jon jones only turned to mma because he wasn't as good an athlete as his two brothers who both went to the NFL.

Usyk and Fury are both freak of nature athletes, so is Wilder tbh, Wilder not due to skill or intelligence but just by ridiculous power.

Combat sports are always top heavy, you can pick any era and outside the top few fighters there's a lot of lesser athletes in the bunch.

The thing is Chin and power are mostly a genetic lottery and you need those plus a fighters heart to be a success. You could be the best athlete in the world if you don't have those things you are going nowhere.

Not sure, but this guy punched harder than both. Pound for pound, Melvin Manhoef may be the hardest puncher in MMA history.

Its not even close

MMA has small ass gloves. Boxing has large gloves and hand wraps that are like a cast. Its to protect their hands from being broken. Francis doesnt even punch as hard as Tyson fury who is a lower power hitter for his size, much less wilder. Francis has developed all his punching habits using small gloves.

Wilder gets huge movement on his punches, look at him in slow motion how he torques his entire body into it. That is why he hits so hard even though hes a small heavyweight in terms of weight. A lot of scrawny fighters have hit very hard in history. Thommas Hearns, Diego Coralles ect

Because it’s 2023, everyone everywhere except for White Americans in flyover states are better off and live comfier lives than ever before.

Why would anyone be a fighter and get their bodies smashed and their brains scrambled when they could do anything else.

Chandler Jones is a beast. 100 sack club member who belongs in the Hall of Very Good. Arthur Jones was a borderline starter who played a couple years.

If JBJ is worse than Arthur, he was probably a fringe caliber NFL talent. Backup or practice squad type. There are a couple hundred guys like that in the league.

Being a fringe caliber NFL athlete is good enough to be a GOAT UFC athlete. But none of the NFL boys are leaving, because they earn so much more playing football.

The guaranteed NFL minimum salary for just making a roster is $750k/yr. Francis made $600k from UFC 270 as a defending heavyweight champion and PPV headliner. He'd be better off financially as a backup linebacker somewhere, running down 5 kickoffs a game.

This match is an obvious money grab and anything over 1 round is a gift from Fury.

Francis is a very good hand striker by MMA standards, but no mma puncher can do serious damage in a boxing ring unless they’re fighting a smaller opponent, or they’re absolutely elite and fighting an amateur.

Fury has eaten bombs from Wilder and has come back to win those fights. Wilder is a giant, and even with his wingspan he struggled against Fury’s 6’9” height.

Boxers train to do damage with fists and to avoid said damage. That’s it. At fury’s level they’re the elite of the elite. Add in the size advantage and it’s a wrap.

I’ve seen people say Mike Tyson would beat Fury. Mike couldn’t even hang with 6’5” Lennox. Imagine adding 4 inches of height, who knows how many inches of wingspan, and better movement to the mix?

Francis would have made $3.5m a fight from becoming champ and would've got $8m to fight Jones but he wouldn't sign a champ contract because he thought he could chase down bigger money in boxing, which he seemingly has.

He said himself that he left $7m on the table across the Stipe and Gane fights by not signing a new big money contract. So between that and $8m to fight Jones that's $15m he's missed out on. He better be making $20m to fight Fury or he's messed up.

He also wouldn't make the NFL.

Also Greg Hardy was a top A-level NFL athlete but he can't hack it in MMA he's been getting KO'd left and right.

I don't believe any of this. UFC is one of the biggest sports on the planet, and people chase fame as much as they chase money. FFS, there are over 5000 minor league baseball players riding smelly buses around for minimum wage just hoping to keep their dreams alive.

Bottom line is that if it was that easy to make it to the top, people would come over and do it.

Jones sucks at ball sports but has a natural affinity for fighting, he always said he was never any good at Football or Basketball and what's why he took up wrestling.

Look at him try and dunk.

Fury is going to give Ngannou the Floyd vs Conor treatment. Play a couple rounds of patty cake to give the PPV audience their money's worth, then put the UFC guy away.

If a phucking borderline JUCO level basketball player can pick up boxing at age 20 and make 10 straight HW title defenses, imagine what a good athlete could do.
For heavyweights that's true in boxing and MMA that they're usually not that skilled.

if you're an athletic heavyweight, you usually choose a less violent sport with more money in it than mma or boxing. the lower weight classes are a lot more stacked in mma except for women's divisons and flyweights
