His press secretary got asked about it.. she said Biden left because he was concerned about spreading Covid, given his wife's positive test. But Biden by that point had already been in the room, maskless, for about 30-40 minutes, including close contact with the aged veteran

He probably should've just said, "I had to take an urgent phone call"
