Can you believe 2005 is almost 20 years ago?

20 years is like when I was a kid in 1997 and somebody telling me about life in 1977 which seemed like it must have been an eternity ago.

Time is moving faster.

There was less time between 1970 and the release of That 70's Show than there was between 1990 and the release of That 90's Show.

Let that sink in.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

The biggest difference is that not much has changed between now and 2005, where as 1977 and 1997 were worlds apart with stuff computers, internet, cars, etc.

But yeah, I remember 2005 like it was yesterday, organized my digital photos by year, so it's fun to go back and look.

you right on that changing part...1977 seemed like a completely different world in 1997. and i'm sure 1957 seemed like a different world in 1977.

2005 just seems like 5 years ago as far as the how things have changed. it's like we hit our peak coming out of the 90s and now we just prod along deeper and deeper into the digital matrix.

Tell me about it. I remember getting the first piece of mail with my first son's name on it. Little things like that trip you out even though it'a such mundane thing. Now he's going on three and we're talking about preschool. Mindblowing.

Fuk I love the screens on those old Thinkpads. Just the right brightness and color tones on them. Great for reading PDF files and not blinding yourself.

That one's working good now, the other one I still have to reflow the solder on the graphics chip and then it'll be good to go too.
