yeah, i'm on that path (largely due to inability to drink quickly)

earlier today sucked so bad because i was trying to measure every detail and reach arbitrary amounts by arbitrary times

just gonna drink slowly

not that hard

God damnit, why is this thread 10 pages.

Groundhog Day.

Ratfish did the same thing with the same thread not long ago, and not long before that. Claimed to go to rehab, Yadda yadda.

i just ramp up in about a week and then end up trapped.

i then take a week or so to exit and suffer tremendously

i reach zero and then still undergo brutal insomnia but no other particular symptoms

then i go some months in a state of pure sobriety

then i get bored and go back to the beginning

boredom is so incredible in comparison to the minute to minute experience of this ho lee fukk

Im the biggest teetotaler ever (1-3 bottles of vodka an entire year, get buzzed off 2 drinks ect) but even I had mild cravings before. I noticed when I went to visit my friend after graduating, that his apartment complex was similar kind of setup to my college friends whom every time i went over it was parties and drinking, which just like reminded me of all that and it made me crave alcohol, made me feel like I was supposed to be drinking, it was a very weird feeling kind of spooked me srs.

Guys posting about drinking atm in this thread are *******s. Unless Ratfish isn’t really trying to get sober, you aren’t helping him and him reading that will probably getting him thinking about popping one open

He doesn't seem to be really trying because he's been doing the same thing for months now. If he actually wanted to get sober it's not like the misc would be the greatest placee to rely on.

Oh I agree with both of these statements, I was just saying this place definitely isn’t the place he should be seeking support from.

I’ve worked with addicts. Temptation is everywhere with alcohol. The last thing he needs, if he is truly actually trying to stay sober, is the reminder.

You don’t have an issue with drinking, so you don’t understand that **** like that can be triggering. It’s not “being a baby”, it’s the realism of the situation. Kudos to you for not struggling, but he(if he isn’t messing around) is. The misc in general is toxic, but it doesn’t always have to be. You don’t have to be a baby to show compassion to a stranger dealing with an issue.

But whatever, just laying out the facts of the scenario with addicts. I can’t tell you not to, but it’s a tough look.

Life is a trigger, everyone has triggers, I get triggered on a regular basis. People that live life looking for safe spaces are some of the most miserable mfers I know
