When it comes to FPS First person shooters do you prefer to

Play alone or multiplayer?

I don't play much anymore, but when I used to play FPSs I preferred solo unless I knew the guys I was playing online with. Random matchmaking in a lot of those online games is real chit.

Of course that's strictly console FPSs. I swear FPSs online with PC the people were much, much more chill to play with. Playing regular matchmaking on Xbox Live was real bad, in my experience.

Can confirm this.

I remember when the first xbox came out it had unreal tournament it was fairly fun on Xbox live but the players were different from unreal tournament 2003 on PC.

I think you just get a lot more younger folks on console multiplayer compared. To PC.

Spent many an hour on UT 2003

Indie FPS games are great, but all of the big AAA fps have terrible campaigns. Anymore I like playing multiplayer more than anything.

I'm old enough to where I played Unreal Tournament (1999) on PC, compared that to Halo 2 on Xbox Live. Night and day difference. I think I stopped playing Xbox Live completely after like 7 months. I didn't finish the free 1-year subscription nor did I renew.

Was Xbox live free for a year? I remember buying a kit which included the disk to update your OS, a wrap around headset, and a adapter for the headset to your controller.

Never could get it set up, so only played online on PC that gen.

Pretty much only play mp. Single player is boring to me mostly

I have a friend group I play with usually

But I don't mind solo playing and communicating with Random teammates if no one's around and I really feel like playing

I don't remember that deal either.

I know not long before that SEGA came out with its own ISP. For seganet. If you signed up for a year Sega would send you a $100 check. Which they did but it took a couple of months .

Seganet was for dial except in Japan where dreamcast had an Ethernet adapter but to be strictly dial up it was shocking there was very little to no lag. Games like quake 3 and NFL 2k were fun to play on dreamcast

Probably my all time favorite console.

Yeah there was a kit and I believe with a new account you got 1 year free. I'm not sure if they did any of that with Xbox 360.

I also remember a ton of XBox games came with free 2-month XBL passes so that was cool. You could stretch out that free year for a bit.

but again I didn't last more than 7 or 8 months on that. Little way to control how ****ty people get; it's borderline impossible to go online and have fun playing.

Multi-player with objectives like flags or bombs, bonus if medic roles are there.

mostly prefer multiplayer with friends. trying to play with people online and they don't have mics or act like bots is frustrating.

But do you boot people out of your hosted game for spawn killing?

When I play multiplayer FPS, it's almost always games like CoD Search & Destroy, CS:GO, but sometimes a little WarZone or Battle Royale here and there.

TBH the way I play is intentionally trolly and stupid. I hardscope, lay prone, and pick the most unexpected and stupid locations. I just like to make "actually good players" die by cheesy chit and RAGE between rounds. Last sweaty person kept screaming: "VISEL, YOU ARE NOT GOOD GO PHARK YOURSELF YOU PHARKING PUCCI." Some games I get aces and clutch, some games I get zero kills and a terribly negative KD. The friends I usually played with historically get frustrated with me if I'm on a losing streak, so I tend to just try and have my fun by myself lol.

With friends only if I play with people, actually just one friend. Destiny was our game of choice, COD just got too insane.

These days, solo unless with friends.

I used to play the older BF series games, COD4, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Halo, all the classic FPS. Eventually, got a life and moved on. Recently got back into gaming and have gotten my ass kicked online. Just don't have that reaction time like some of these kids these days.

Depends on the game. Halo CE? Online, of course. The AI in F.E.A.R still makes the single player feel different every time I replay it. Never played CoD online for some reason.

Multiplayer objectives, like raids on destiny. They’re the pinnacle of FPS. Srs.

no, online gaming is luck of the draw for network infrastructure. If i live in a low latency area i dominate. If i live in a low latency area i cannot win. You c an easily hit a quarter second of latency in some areaz

I enjoyed playing Team Fortress 2 with other players. But now, I just play Ravenfield against bots.
