If you could go to two summer X Games events which

Bmx and skateboard here

Probably bmx street and skate street. But, if Tony Hawk was participating in vert I would be tempted to go to that.

Got to see hawk skate in very competition in 88. If I remember correctly he came in 2nd or 3rd. Gator rogawksi came in 1st. Pretty sure hosoi came in 2nd and hawk 3rd. . he and Christian were super laid back and nice. Gator was a total prick. Didn't shock me when he went to jail for 35 to life.

You never heard of Christian hosoi? In the middle late 80s esrly 90s hawk and hosoi always went back and forth. They were the two best.

Check out rising sun Christian hosoi on YouTube for Gator his documentary is called stoked the gator rogawksi story. He was a POS


I thought hosoi was better than hawk my self but they had two completely different styles

No I never heard of him. I was just a casual with skating in the mid 2000s, busting my knee trying to drop in on an 8ft, that sort of thing lol. I'll check him out

Hey at least you dropped . I never could/would.

Had a quarter pipe in the garage though that me and my friend pushed 3 miles in top of our boards. They were always fun to skate.

Ahh good memories...before the dark times.....before the empire

Ha, that was the way - had to do what you had to do to skate some ramps. We built a really bad quarter pipe that had like 3 transitions as we went up it, because we couldn't get the board to contour lol

I'm a Christian Hosoi fan. I watched the Rising Sun documentary. Hosoi wasn't a skateboarder who became a legend, he was a legend who happened to ride skateboards, and he was damn good at it. I hope he stays clean. It was cool to see the culture of skateboarding in the 80s as well. Latverian41, thanks for pointing me in that direction

Apparently he is a preacher in Carlsbad now. Would have been nice to if seen him and Tony go at it in the first xgames

BMX park and BMX dirt.

Use to ride both, so it was fun to watch.

Been to multiple x games (here and in Cali). Cali was GOAT, but the venues/events were so spread out.
