Lifetime reps for the Marshall full stack. You don't see that much anymore.

I still reckon a loop pedal would be a solid investment + slow everything down and add more bars so you can take your time building lines over changes.

The temptation is there to outline chords and rip arpeggios but one of the best exercises is to find common tones between key changes and develop sequences around them.

Nobody has posted more videos than me here srs.. I was the king of posting videos and not giving a chit.. I would post more but I only have a classical with me because I'm travelling.
I was just fuking with you though, it's not that bad... I can't improvise for chit, need like 5 takes at least on a backing track to get something that sounds ok. Also improvising is ****ing stupid 99% of the time unless you're Guthrie level good.. Just write a fuking solo and stop fuking about m8

I know I don'tcurrentlyown a guitar, but I did play jazz and improv'd a solo over Charlie Parker's Bird for senior music class. Improv'ing in front of an audience is a tricky gig indeed, very easy to panic or fck up or forget what in the piss you are doing.

My advice is know the theory very well: Scales, box patterns, chord/arpeggio shapes, all the ways in which different scales work over which chords/progressions etc. Play over diverse backing tracks in different keys and tempos.

I also heard from Andy Aledort, an editor from the magazine Guitar World, that you can pause your favorite songs or solos and insert your own things in there and practice getting in and out.

And just keep practising improv over and over. It's arguably the most creative aspect of music and creativity IMO, can't exactly be taught (and don't lose your chit).
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

I test drove a Martin D28 right before I bought my Taylor and I loved it. Then I found the special build Taylor that I fell in love with, plus they had the summer deal where you get a Mini for $200 extra so I was went that route. I can see myself owning a Martin someday though.

There's nothing like playing in front of a 4x12 pushed by a tube amp. the second 4x12 is just bonus lmao
I have a 30W and the 100W marshall, and even at bedroom volume levels, the 100w sounds so much better pushing those big cabs.

Do you guys have the BALLS to post a video of a straight improvisation over a track you’re not comfortable playing over?
I just ordered a new looper, should be here in a few days. I'll post some improv and y'all will feel WAY better about your own stuff haha

Howdy Swim....

Do you still have a link to your original songs?
I'd check 'em out.

About being in a live, original music band?
I was in live bands for a decade and there's no drug in the world quite like it.
But....it's a (4) or (5) part marriage that wreaks with hurdles.

If I were asked, I sayyes.
Without a doubt.
If one is really serious about improving their desired skill set then learningthe language of musicto some degree (not "insane") is going to be required.
Why? So you can communicate and learn more effectively from others that are far better than ourselves.

But....to each their own take on it.

Carry on.

I've been playing a bit more guitar recently but lately have been getting into piano and bass. I'm really enjoying bass atm.
I don't even know where to find band members at my age now.. Are bands even still a thing lol?

Got it.

I listened to few of your vids.
Some good playing and you have developed your own compositional technique.

Well done and good luck with your music endeavors.

As I eluded to, starting a band can be a daunting task.

Thanks for response.

I got my taylor's a little backwoods shop: Basically an old hippie has it in his barn, open a few nights a week and Saturdays. I've been shopping there for years so he hooked me up with a Koa mini when I got the big taylor. I"m really impressed with it, it projects some serious volume for such a small instrument.

Lol I think I have the volume on the 100W head at 2 on the lead channel with the gain fairly low at 3 or 4 for those videos.
