Does anyone have a pic of their fan curves?
Or any helpful links?
Reason I ask is I can hear my fans spin up (and is noticeable audibly) whenever I open a new page of a forum for example (ie clicking from Page 1 to Page 2 etc)
Also on another forum on occasion an add banner will pop up at the bottom of the screen and this also causes the fans to spin up.
I feel like these two instances for example shouldn't be really placing anything under duress to cause the fans to spin up.
Or any helpful links?

If you increase the ramp period from (up and down) .1 -> .3 it will be a lot less noticeable to your ears.
Though a good fan curve is smart.

My case/radiator fans just stay at 1100 rpm pretty much at all times. Barely audible in general, not audible to me with headphones or speakers. 12 corsair ql 120 fans in a lian li 011 dynamic Evo
I have my gpu targeted to stay at 80c. It's the loudest part of the pc

You could of course also use the built in stuff from Asus and such.
(Well, it's "normal" pole arms, which you can adjust, heightwise, rotate and so on. The height is decent enough.)

these screenshots look like crap because my BIOS evidently doesn't know how to react to a 55" monitor, but
this is my AIO fan settings:
and this is what I use for all the rest of my fans
I have 10 case fans plus 3 massive GPU fans and my PC is dead silent when idling or just browsing the web/youtube/netflix.
only time it spins up is under heavy editing or gaming loads, and at that point I have a headset on and sound doesn't matter

I ordered some custom PSU cables off AliExpress and they are both inexpensive and working great with no issues. The quality is there too. The seller is called WinKool.
CableMod has no excuse for being so stupidly expensive.
Had to rework the cable management in my SFF build, since the OEM cables on the SF600 were so hard and thick. For some reason I really enjoyed redoing all the cable routings in that really tight space. Just something about finding ways to be more efficient. Think it even improved the airflow a bit too as I'm getting lower temps now.

The back of my case looks like someone vomited wires into it. Having 12 corsair fans each with 2 wires coming out is a nightmare.
When i decide to rebuild my girlfriends pc I'm going to give her these corsair fans and switch to the lian li fans that connect like puzzle pieces. I always said I was gunna go back and clean it all up but **** it lol. Cases with closed off back panels make it too easy to just do lazy wiring and get away with it.
It took me a few hours of troubleshooting and switching connections around to sync up 12 corsair rgb fans and 4 rgb strips.
I have always like corsair but they Def engineer a better way

I could use some advice on new build that got delayed and delayed anddelayeduntil I'm sitting here with my brain melted.
The major conundrum I'm having is that I bought a Ryzen 7950x and Asus x670e strix (I know...) ages ago, so I can't return the motherboard, and I'm pretty much thinking that I'll just try selling the damn thing. As I was researching the Asus problem and an alternative motherboard, I'm now growing more worried about AM5 as a whole, specifically in regards to system stability. Random restarts, crashes, BSODs, crackling audio due to unstable memory, memoryfailures, failure to sleep (I set my computer to sleep all the time to resume what I was working on), all kinds of bullshiit left and right I'm reading about, and that's a dealbreaker for my needs if it really is severe or not.
Would I be better off cutting my losses and just going Intel at this point? I don't want, nor have thetimeto deal with that kind of stuff, and I'm kind of worried it would be a downgrade in the sense of having a system that "just works" at the moment, heavily outdated as it may be.

You have the original 7950x (not the x3d one) so you are more than likely fine period. The only common issue had was slow boot ups on the early bios versions.
The killer error was the over volting by certain venders ASUS being the worst. The corrected bios are already out.
You have nothing to worry about.

I'm still weighing the motherboard and thinking of switching it out. I only got it because my first choice wasn't available, but the whole build kept getting pushed back regardless. Originally, I was thinking theMSI Carbon Wifi. There were a few features I liked better, especially 2 extra SATA ports because I do use them. I'd already be out 3/4 of them with the Asus since I plan to start with two HDDs and one SSD.
Any thoughts on that one?
Really, the whole combo shook me a bit like the crackling audio because I use my PC for audio, I always have tons of things up that I resume the next day, and I'm not the troubleshooting/tweaking sort of person with less and less time these days as it is.

For me ASUS is a no go. The warranty stuff is a little alarming, but the biggest issue to me was that the Voltage Control on the MB LIED. If I set it at a voltage and the board says it is at that voltage it better be at that voltage.
The MSI MPG B650 is a VERY nice board. Great VRMs, Memory Compatibility, wifi, 4 m.2 slots. I don't know how it compares vs other boards in the $290 price class though.
Looks like based on the schematics you can DROP the GPU into the lower PCIE slot with out performance loss so if you need both it should be doable even with a 4090 as long as you have the case size.
Sata wise I am assuming you are using it as a media server or something similar where you are needing multiple 10+TB drives? If you need it that seems like a benefit, but it isn't to me.
I haven't done any of those. Though 14 TB Western Digital DV HC530s are on sale for $170 so maybe I might.

Carbon Wifi boards drew me in because they're well balanced on features for my needs. I still kick myself over the Asus board, but I can hopefully sell it to recoup some of the costs. I just don't trust them after the entire ordeal. The silver lining is that looking at the MSI QVL brought me tothis 64 GB Kingston RAMthat is SK Hynix A-Series, when the one I was looking at before was not.
As for the SATA, it's mostly extra storage and I like having room for expansion. I already have two 8TB hard drives ready, one for music and the other for misc. game files. I looked into financing options with a line of credit for a 2.5k to 3k build and the interest payment isn't bad.
However looking at my gaming wants realistically, i think a xbox series x would be my best option. That console can run cyberpunk at 60 frames per second, and also with my lg cx that I plan on hooking it up to, then, who knows, starfield at a locked 30 frames per second can still look really good with motion interpolation. That 30 frames would be bumped up to look smoother at the tv's 120 hz refresh rate speed lol

I'm running a 3070 on just 600W SFX..
Do you really need a blu ray writer? No one uses discs anymore.
Ditch the windows 11 software and just use the activation script. You run a Bat file and it works like a charm. Ive had zero issues with windows 11. Even updated to 22H2 build.

You can build this for way cheaper if you just get parts on Kijiji or Amazon warehouse. Half my PC build is used parts and I've run into no issues with them.
Build the computer your self. It's not hard at all. The only part of it where you can even mess up is putting the cpu into the motherboard by bending the pins. But you'd have to be a real klutz to do that.
And BTW, the B660 is an Intel board. It is not compatible with an AMD 5900x (AM4). You need a B550 for AM4.

Yea I saw the prices on some computers and gpus on kijiji, saw a 3060 for 300 lol.
Which brings up my post about the Xbox being a viable 4k contender lol.
I think to beat tv monitor and current gen console frame rates you need a lavish comp and willing to spend at least 2.5k CAD lol, maybe lower end 2k if you oc the crap out of everything.
I have pc builder simulator so I'm sure a build would go pretty well, but then gotta also update the ram, processor and mobo.
I mean my 2080 ran me over a grand back when it was released and it is performing flawlessly on, had to even dial back the oc because it is still so good lol.

PC is good for older games you want to play in higher resolutions since there are many that haven't gotten remasters yet. Using mods are nice too.

Just built a new mid-tier rig for roughly $1500:
i7 12700k
32 GB 4000 DDR4 RAM
B660 motherboard
RTX 4070 Ti
750W Gold PSU
360mm AIO + 3 more fans (full load 51C stable)
2 TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD
Just using my 48” LG C2 OLED 120hz G-Sync TV as a monitor.
Avg 88-91 FPS in Cyberpunk with everything maxed.
Pieced it together over 2 months when deals struck.
Edit: Didn’t go for DDR5 RAM because prices will be cheaper when games actually demand it. Right now DDR5 has more latency and DDR4 is plenty.
