Police in Germany are trained for 3 years before going out on patrols. 3 years. In the context of a far less violent criminal population.

I read this book: Citizen-Protectors: The Everyday Politics of Guns in an Age of Decline

I am fascinated by the decline of law enforcement in terms of their capacities in areas where crime rises significantly.

In that book the author interviews a store owner that shot and killed an 18 or 19 year old who tried to rob him. Independent of race, blacks and whites praised him for the shooting, and he details why he felt compelled to arm himself: no police around, rampant crime.

This is why I am a fundamental supporter of the right to own and bear arms. In part, because of the violent criminal potential in this country (the highest in the western world) and the fundamental right I should have to defend my abode. I.e., castle doctrine.

For the retards here I am not talking about shooting a kid whose baseball flies into my yard if he comes to get it. I am talking about MY fundamental right to eliminate ANY threat to me and mine, period.

This in particular in this age of decline, and the rise of the citizen protector.
