Russia is going to invade multiple NATO nations? What kind of nonsense is that. You would need millions of people, this is not WW2.
If Russia has no designs to reconstitute some historical Russian empire, it would probably behoove Putin to not say as much.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61767191

If he developed the expectation that NATO countries are weak, separated, distracted, indifferent...we have every reason to think he may agress some of these smaller nations and expect inaction. We aren't going to let that happen, sorry.

And due to MAD, there's plenty of room to think such a conflict could be conventional.
The flawed logic in that argument is that you think you are weakening Russia through Ukraine and warning China of not doing anything similar with Taiwan, but you are also ignoring the negative side effects from your actions.
It's not flawed to think that we are mitigating risk. We are incurring a cost to mitigate risk of a worse possible outcome.
All the sanctions against Russia showed many nations in the world how unfair the financial system is and that US has a full control of it, which is why we are seeing BRICS and others trying to either create new currency or their own financial trade/system. This has been a wake up call for many countries out there, and it doesn't mean US is going to become weak overnight but it's a start of a decline.
Russia deserves its sanctions. Countries can wake up to the realization that acting like Russia will come at a heavy cost.
You might not think a lot has changed so far but consider your purchasing power 2-3 years ago and now, a lot of people in the Western world have lost quite a bit as the prices of everything have gone up. What do you think it'll be in another 5-10 years?
It'll be fine for us. Not so fine for Russia. They are going to eventually realize Putin made a huge mistake.
So for the benefit of pissing Russia and China off, you have sped up the decline of your nation as a superpower.
Wait...so by giving up our power to Russia and China we are a stronger superpower? I think you have that one backwards.
And I hardly doubt you are scarying China considering the combined Western world+ can't crush Russia through sanctions or military aid to Ukraine. China is much larger, they produce everything and now they are close allies with Russia, that will supply them with an unlimited amount of resources to help them becomes the main world's superpower.
Look at what happened to Germany's industrial output and their overall economy since Russia stopped supplying them with cheap and reliable energy. Good luck running German industrial powerhouse on solar and wind.
Look at France losing access to Niger's uranium, going from paying less than a $1/kg of Uranium to now Niger demanding market value of over $200/kg.

G7 is fuked because you've pushed your luck too far and everyone had enough.
It'll never be a better idea to leave Russia and China unchecked. We'll completely adjust.

Shut the **** up and get back in your straight jacket GOO.

Unreal... This lobotomized fuk literally says pissing hundreds of billions away on Ukraine is a better use of the money than spending it on our OWN military.
Hell, I have to agree with squanto on page 1: how about actually putting that money towardsAmericans'well-being instead of a glorified money laundering scheme wrapped up in a Cold War 2.0 "Her Turn!" revenge fantasy.

It's a manufactured war for profiteers that only benefits the likes of those the same so-called-liberals decried during the Bush Jr. era. The only key differences are that they realized that they could get away withanythingby hiding behind foreignaidinstead of direct foreignintervention, and the Ukraine offers fukk-all to us next to the Middle-East if you want to look at it from cold practicality. Any "benefit" will never be seen by anyone except those orchestrating the entire affair, and that is certainly not in terms of natural resources.

Now look at them....

"Moar money to Ukraine and Moar war and moar money to Ukraine and moar war and moar money to Ukraine and moar war!"

They even let GOO log on from his rubber room long enough to tell us pissing money away to Ukraine is a better option than spending it on our OWN military.
They're walking, talking, queefing contradictions.

Russia is somehow the greatest threat to the US while also being a laugh riot joke of a nation that is getting streamrolled by Ukraine, but they also need a constant stream of US money to stay alive.

There are no calls for peace, and in fact the complete opposite with outright refusal to host negotiations, which should be goddamn chilling to anyone with a functioning brain. While they're screeching for more billions to be poured into Ukraine and more eeeevil Ruskies to die, the war is still onUkraine'sturf. It is the Ukrainian people who are having their homes destroyed, families torn apart, and entire futures surrendered to the whims of warmongersbecausethey refuse any compromise or moves towards peaceful resolution. They truly want only more war with no end in sight.

I found it! I knew I saw a tweet from 2 weeks ago when Blinken was in Ukraine, stating he would give them $520 million to fight climate change and build a cleaner, more resilient energy infrastructure.

If they were truly looking to make a dent in climate change maybe they wouldn't be indulging in wars, which tend to be very environmentally unfriendly....

Well gee... it's almost as if they really don't give AF about the horrors of climate change at all.

Yet they refuse to stop queefing about it... and it still needs a LOT of money for some odd reason. Weird.

Stroking the liberals cocks over covid, or BLM.
