A better response to your "excuse" would be to let her know that you and your Ex split a bit ago, you went onto the app and wanted to see other options or connections during your time of uncertainty, and then she messaged you and you decided to give it another go. You at least have a partial truth to it all on there and is something anyone can understand without feeling suspicious about it.
