6 months in and already mogging in my new job
-Got a job working in business banking telephony
-Currently trained on every sector, meanwhile there are people here for years and not trained on everything
-Good relationship with my manager
-Earlier this week, my manager let me cover her role for a few hours (Manager's role is to help people in the office with complex queries and to authorise certain things)
-I was basically in charge of the office for a bit. My manager has arranged for me to have me to do the same next week.
It's pretty much unheard of for a colleague who's only been working for 6 months to be signed off to have authority in a financial institution. Most managers or people signed off for referrals have been here for years and are "accredited". A lot of our clients have millions in the bank.
One of the girl's refused my assistance though and said wanted to speak to a manager. I basically started at the same time as her. My manager was about to give her feedback for this as I was "in charge" and she refused my help. But I told my manager to let it slide.

Good attitude and good motivation. Keep it up and go places. Those who rise to the top, it's not that much about having special skills or tallents bu a lot of it is about those who are willing to step it up. Just don't fuk up and you'll be good. A lot of people just do a job well enough and then they don't care to do anything else such as those you mentioned being in the game 10 years.
Anyone reading this, don't assume that because someone has been there a long time and is great at their job but never moved up meaning you'll never move up. That's not what it's about.

I've been building my connections, have a wealth of knowledge already, saved a big corporate complaint the other week and have been trialling some managerial duties.
Give it 6 more months, when I've built my connections and I learn the system inside out, I will still be a "number", but I will be the go-to oracle/problem fixer within my department. That is invaluable.

Sounds like your doing a good job OP. Hopefully you climb up the corporate ladder.
You are your thoughts. Life is perception, thoughts are perception, perception is reality ergo thoughts are reality, I think therefore I am.
