I've lived in Ukraine, too, and it wasn't that great. Believe me, quality control is trash and so many products are processed garbage of even worse quality than in the US. Farmer's markets exist everywhere in Europe, as far as I'm aware. Maybe this guy was living in an upper class family and got spoiled, lmao. Also, he's speaking Russian. Where did you get the info that he's Ukrainian other than the video title saying it? I don't believe that Germany out of all places has such horrible food. Every exported German product is top tier taste.

Never been to Germany, but yea I very rarely eat fruits nowadays, nothing tastes like I remember when I was a kid, and it's not nostalgia.
I mean do you know what your local season dates are and how to smell/touch food? It’s mostly bad cuz it’s out of season and shipped long distances. Most grocery stores will still carry local seasonally available foods if you know what should be available and how to judge it.

Always go to a grocery store with no idea what I’m gonna make and just do the best I can with what’s available.

I think OG's argument is that the dude in the video said "heh" instead of "geh", as a Russian would. I have no argument against that, but will say that there were many Russian natives living in eastern Ukraine. It's not that unusual to incorporate how you pronounce words when you live somewhere long enough. When I speak Russian or Ukrainian, I rarely roll my Rs, because I grew up in America. So when natives hear me speak Russian or Ukrainian, they assume that I'm American, lol. I also have Russian speaking relatives in Moldova and the way they roll their Rs sounds like they are speaking underwater.

Lived in a 3rd world country for a year and the fruit does taste allot better, most of it looks different too, i.e. the strawberries are much smaller but have 3x the flavor

One of the worst things I've noticed lately is watermelons don't have any black seeds anymore (which are the most protein / nutrient rich seeds in the world) AND they completely lost their flavor
