why do people spray cologne on their shirt?

isn't it supposed to be on your skin?

It tends to last longer on clothes and also some people don't like the 'chemicals' on their skin. Though high quality colognes will tend to develop nicely on skin. But I usually spray on clothes.

It doesn't make it stronger it just makes it last longer on clothes, because your skin sweats/refreshes itself/is warm, so the scent fades faster.

Were you drenching your shirts in Old Spice body sprays and having Big Eddie take a test sniff of the shirt one day when you came to the conclusion that colognes are too overpowering when applied to clothes, or what? You're supposed to be subtle about it, not spray a ton of it on.

That being said, I don't even get how guys can go through colognes that fast. Granted I don't use it daily, but I basically splurge on 4 or 5 bottles of high quality stuff for around $150, and they'll last me 3 - 5 years. I usually end up tossing a bit out because I start to feel like they ones I had had just gotten too old and needed to go.

- lasts longer (doesnt mean it projects more)
- avoid putting endocrine disruptors on your skin
- sometimes i like the drydown much more than the opening. I’ll spray a bunch on my clothing and wear them a few hours later for that beautiful drydown. Plus it lasts longer on clothes, so win-win

In the fall and winter this is what I do. Chicks love the smell.

Otherwise I do neck sprays and a chest spray for cologne.
