Anyone else feel awesome about leeches having to repay their student loans back yet?

Watching student loan repayments restart has been so hilarious for me. Not a single leech I know who took on the 3.5 year GIFT they received of a pause with no interest actually took the opportunity to get their loans paid down. Imagine how much these clowns could have been applying to the principal balance that entire time, yet 99% of them sat on their hands to live it up while hoping for student loan forgieveness to bail them out down the line.

Absolutely zero sympathy from me. F 'em to hell and back. I saw these same exact fools being less than super resonsible about it pre-covid. Except now they are a little more hesitant to bitch to the rest of us, because we're like "Why didn't you get that bs paid off during the 3.5 year break the government gifted you at the expense of the rest of us?" I ejoy seeing these people suffer the return of their purely self-inflicted financial burdens. I sure hope that 4 year undergrad degree you spent 5 years paying out of state college tuition prices on out in bumfuk Idaho was worth it.

College loans are bull**** in general but I also know one too many people who used college as a party ticket while taking BS classes so

I paid off all of my high interest private loans during the pause. Feelsgoodman. Will have my low interest fed loans paid off within a year now

What do you mean when you say "college loans are bull **** in general"?.

Should the professors and all of the staff required to make a college just work there out of the goodness of their hearts? What about the endless material resources they need to upkeep the place?

Do you think it should all be free, or what? Who pays for the colleges if we do that, then?

Way too easy to get
Way too many kids straight out of moms basement signing up
Way too many worthless majors

The entire way that they operate makes having a degree the equivalent of a Coursera certification in some cases

I've never seen any figures but always hoped maybe half of the people actually took advantage of the unprecedented grace period they were given. Be careful with your glee OP. If you're right and very few paid anything back the economy will get fuked in the ass in another 6 months or so. It's all fun and games until markets go deep red.

I feel for the people who busted their ass while in school to help pay for at least some if not all of their tuition. Those who went to cheaper schools just to save money. Those who busted their ass after school to pay their loans off. Then Biden and the dems tried to say that those people have "privilege" to be able to pay that off when in reality we know that those who took out huge loans went to expensive out of state or private schools, wanted the college experience and lived in dorms the whole time, didn' twork but went to pride parades and explored the nightlife, even BLM events, just played the whole time instead of getting serious. Pisses me off how they want to reward those who take the least amount of responsibility even to go as far as say rewarding people for bad behavior.

Then some of these people with degrees want to call themselves educated but then you see how they carry themselves, how they act, how they handle problems and while they talk about critical thinking it's just a talking point, they don't actually do any critical thinking. Professional integrity of a sewer rat. They can't even put a sentence together and then don't know the difference in the you/your/you're and you/your/you're and other mistakes which shows they don't even have the concept down.

Most people don't understand basic finance or economics. The saying goes that if you're willing to never see the money you loan out to people then it's not an issue. You think the Government's just going to be OK with millions or billions of $$'s never being given back? They could keep extending or forgiving as long as they like but eventually there is always a day where the debt is due. Dumb arse people probably thought the Feds would just move on and forget about it. How are they going to make up some of that Ukraine "missing" $$, amirite?

Taking a loan is extremely risky and stupid if you don't have a for sure proof way of being able to pay it back with or without any extensions or forgiveness. Loaning is equally stupid and risky if you're not willing to say bye-bye forever to that $$.

You hijack my account or something? "Educated" people who can't discern or use to/too, there/they're/their, your/you're in the correct form and context are not educated in my mind. Don't give me any of that lazy online text typing crap. I don't care which school you went to or how high a degree you have. When people talk in person it's easy to let that stuff slip under the radar because they all "sound" the same when speaking. The way someone types, aka putting their thoughts and mental process out onto paper or in words, is a true indication of who's smart and who isn't.

Current American educational testing/test scores and overall amount of higher education is 3rd world level status right now and one of the lowest in the "1st world" countries. Misc is a great pool selection of the overall general adult population of the USA and I can tell you that with how people type and communicate on here as well as btch and complain about anything more than a few sentences it's not a good sign.

Jobs are jobs and $$ is $$ but I have a feeling a lot of the people on here who have higher paying jobs simply do because either they got in before the big immigration boom, are already established within the career/field, or their job has to keep the quota up of White workers.

Has nothing to do with college being "free". College loans are a share-cropping / debt-slavery scam. College loans are the only type of debt which can't be discharged through bankruptcy with the exception of court order debts and fines (child support, criminal judgments, etc.). Which is really all you need to know if you understand why a concept like bankruptcy exists.

Agreed, this debt should be dischargable in bankruptcy and colleges should be forced to bear the entire burden. Break open their endowments and if they don't have the cash, they can start selling assets to pay what they owe.

Further, if enough of their former students do end up declaring bankruptcy, the colleges should be banned from eligibility for federal student loans for a period of 10 years.
