It gets him out of his trials for this reason;

National Security.

As Speaker, Trump would be second in line for the Presidency under Continuity of Government. Any attempt to arrest or convict Trump would be a violation of National Security and Trump and the Republican Congress could have all of the Prosecutors and Judges arrested as threats against the United States.
