The only games that "never gets old" are games like counter strike, starcraft brood war etc where the core gameplay is extremely solid, and the nature of the game makes it so dynamic that no games look the same.

Any single player game will always get old in time. Some have more longevity than others, prime example being Skyrim for instance. But that too gets old. Personally, I can play a single player game anywhere from 1-3 times but then its definitely old news to me. I'm rarely able to even get through an entire game, and theres no way I'll ever 100% a game, ever.

Interesting how many miscers said FF8. I think it would make the best remake. Fuark, imagine Ultimecia's Castle with next gen graphics. It would look like something from Bloodborne with all the bosses to fight. Tiamat would be an insane fight and Omega Weapon would destroy many runs.

Thought of OSRS, but I think OP was referring to singleplayer games. To me, Runescape is more of a fantasy life simulator than a video game. Once you are in, you are never really out. Playing on two accounts as I type this, lol.
