What do you think of forced diversity in movies?
Flipping through the channels and theres this channel that shows made for tv woke chick movies basically. Some of the shows are so bad they're good, just because of how absurd they are. Like 10 years ago, all those movies were promoting feminism. They still do, but now everything has forced diversity as well. The family will have a mixed race couple, usually black and white, white kids but the kids will have at least 1 black friend. The parents friends will be asian or hispanic. At least one of the above will be gay/lesbian/trans. The husband is always a total pucci. All men who are considered "good" are effeminate. As soon as you see a traditional masculine man, you automatically know they're the villian. The women are all "alpha" with masculine characteristics. I'm not racist, but it just breaks the immersion. These movies regularly have 3 races and at least 2 different gay/straight/lez orientations under the same roof. Does anybody actually enjoy movies more because of the forced diversity?
As a white male, I can enjoy watching black movies. Like boys in the hood, juice, menace 2 society, clockers, new jersey drive, barbershop, paid in full, friday etc.... In those movies almost all the main characters are black (except barbershop, one white guy), and those were great movies. They don't need to add a white male main character for me to "identify with" to enjoy it. Even chick flicks, with all female main characters can be decent, and I don't feel like adding a male main character would make these better. I like those movies BECAUSE I feel like an outsider looking in, that's part of the appeal. Forcing a white male main character into these genres breaks immersion and makes them worse.
Sometimes the diversity thing does work. Law and order and some cop shows don't feel as forced because they take place in NYC in public with so many characters. It's hard to quantify at which point a movie starts to feel like the diversity is "forced", but you can definitely tell when you are watching it.
It's like there's different genres of music, I can appreciate nearly all of them, but for different reasons. But if every hip hop song started including a classical verse and a jazz chorus with a metal breakdown, it would be jarring. Instead of appealing to fans of all 4 genres, it would probably make them all avoid it. That's what forced diversity feels like. Of course there's also great music that blends different genres well but thats not what I'm talking about.
Separate movies that focus on different demographics are fine, but trying to have every race/gender/sex orientation on screen at every second, I'm not feeling it.
What are some movies or shows you've watched recently where the forced diversity is blatant and breaks immersion?
Will this trend hit a saturation point soon? Or will all media eventually be like this?

Its a California state law on Hollywood. They have to fill quotas and that is a Gavin newsome policy. It's cringe as fuk. I saw a commercial for Swiffer and it was a black lesbian couple with kids. Its like wtf? I don't give a chit about black lesbians, they can exist but what is the point of forcing it down our throats?

Most people don't watch children's shows, but it's rampant in that genre as well, probably because a lot of parents sit their kids in front of the Tv and assume it's all safe, so they let their guard down. One show was talking about a character that had two dads, and how awesome it was, and they all thought it was cooler than having a mom and dad. Wtf??
I instantly turn off anything that's woke, especially when it's two homers making out or have relations. Steven Kings It Chaoter two has dudes making out at a carnival in less than 5 mins. Nope!
The new series of Justified had woke chit all through the start. Ruined a great show.
The new Hellraiser had homer sex scenes. Nope!
It's getting tiresome and frustrating, especially the kids shows. Now they're just asking for retaliation.

Dont even bother with movies starring dingers anymore.
Guaranteed to be trash. Gone are the days where competent well casted black actors are utilized.
The new Exorcist will be chit and example of that.

even in my example of Law and Order, in one of the new spin-offs, "Organized Crime", the highest ranked officer in the group is a black lesbian woman. It's cringe watching tough guy rugged man Chris Meloni taking orders from and being put in his place by this woman. It just felt like some woke fetish fantasy where a black lesbian woman is bossing around the traditional man, and served no real purpose other than trying to emasculate men and push an agenda

I love Lucy had a redhead married to a Hispanic that routinely slapped her around.
OG Star Trek (1969) had an Irishman, a Scotsman, A Russian, An African American, and a Japanese as officers on the Bridge.

Like in Rush hour, you have off the boat asian and ghetto black cop teamed up, but the whole point is the comedy of the culture clash, to me that doesn't feel woke. Likewise, in I Love Lucy, a lot of the humor was based on the culture clash between the main characters. In both examples, the characters maintain and embrace their stereotypes, which doesn't bother me. With the forced diversity, it's like this political correctness is being overemphasized to try to paint over existing stereotypes, and just doesn't feel genuine. For example, if in Rush hour, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker were acting totally neutral and politically correct, on their best behavior, it might feel forced, as if to say "just because we're black and asian doesn't mean we act like that". Like I said, it's hard to quantify, and there will always be exceptions. I never watched much Star Trek so can't comment on that. Maybe the space environment and futuristic feel make the diversity feel more natural?I love Lucy had a redhead married to a Hispanic that routinely slapped her around.

Book of Eli is about a black man that God chose out of any white man He could have chosen, but it had good writing and great acting.
Forced diversity is when the story, actors, or scenes are lower quality for the sake of a narrative. The scenes don't feel smooth, but rather out of place. The actors don't fit the role. The story is interrupted and feels awkward.
One of the few "woke" movies that I enjoyed was Jango Unchained, but Quentin sacrificed nothing to make it work. Great actors, well written and humor all people can laugh at. Had enough truth in it that it was difficult to be angry about, and the blacks and whites felt balanced in evil and good.

Depending on the movie its almost always an immediate pass for me.
Some it works but in general its cringe.

TBH just reminds people of how "that's hollywood not real life".
I just don't get how in most shows the women are the sources of logic and reason and the men are the overly emotional hysterical one's. Unfortunately that's starting to become reality.

it's all trash
even the writers they hire are garbage and don't know how to even tell stories
these retards are more concerned with including characters that have vitiligo identifying as non-binary than they are actually writing a decent story

Don't really care when its forced into some Netflix or Disney show that I'm not going to watch anyway. But when they remake a classic or make the queen of England a basketball American then I think its retarded.

I have noticed alot more usually black leads a lot of the time female and they are just GOD AWFUL at acting and instantly I know why they got cast.
Example, new transformers movie main black chick is so bad and cringe and out of place I know why she got the part.

If you're looking for non-diversified stuff, you can always watch black sit-coms or movies. 100% black unless they need a white person to play a racist or to be the butt of a bunch of jokes.

The only ones that really bug me are when they take an established character or historical figure and change their race.
For everything else, if it makes sense in the setting of the film, then it isn't 'forced' and doesn't bug me. Now if it's some sitcom in small town South Dakota and you have one white guy, asian girl, black gay guy, latina, and an Indian guy, I'm gonna roll my eyes.
Here's one:

Now I've never lived in Wisconsin, so maybe I'm just an inbred retard, but they managed to check off all the boxes including a gay Asian kid, and I'm supposed to think, "Yeah, this was totally an average 90's setup."?
