Fbook market place sellers, question??

I sell guy a turbo off my vehicle that was working prior, came right from shop to boxed to me shipping to person online who wanted to buy.

Claims the turbo piece isn’t working right and needs rebuild, he’s asking if he can return it or if I can help on costs of a rebuild.

I said I’d call Monday n check pricing on rebuild and see about meeting him half way and send a little $.

Does this sound right? I’m not assuming but could he have changed a piece on the turbo? Apparently was his friends shop who said it’s bad

Why did he need a turbo in the first place? Was he building an engine from scratch or did he already have a bad one?

He most likely already had a bad one, bought yours and is now going to try to scam you out of your good one.

Realistically, what are the chances of it being bad from the factory? Pretty slim and it just so happens its this one time?

Apparently his turbo was bad and leaking oil and then says the one I sent him the shaft has too much play, I’m wondering if he changed the shafts out?

What rights do I have as a seller? Do I have to take it back? He paid me thru PayPal

It came off my car that was working perfectly fine and professionally removed from shop

How do I know it’s friends and family? He sent me the $ thru PayPal and I already transferred to bank. I’m not a dealer was just my personal turbo.

I have a feeling with his friend owning a shop and his turbo blowing he may have changed some parts out for all I know.

I'd be concerned about him installing your turbo, sending back the damaged one, and filing a complaint with paypal and trying to get his money back. So fraud

This is why I only deal in person and with cash

He's trying to scam you & have PayCUCK refund him; he will send back his broken parts in place of yours

This is how people operate post 2020; just assume everyone is trying to scam you

No. I never appease these people AT ALL. IF you get into a civil suit the judge will wonder why you made any concessions if there was anything wrong. Youre getting scammed

You'll have to look at the details of the transaction on PayPal. If it's friends and family he can't claim it and can fuk right off

I tried looking I don’t see anything that says If it’s friends and family? I know I’ve seen it when sending money just don’t see it when I receive. I have the mobile app

Fkn lol you are out of your mind even entertaining this dude for one second.

You have 0 obligation to ever interact with this person again in your life.

Don't answer, block, and move on.

Also what the guy above said, never do friends and family PayPal for stuff like this. I use zelle straight up these days. Bank to bank, no refunds, no accidental blah blah.

100% this.

Used should alway be listed "as is" on the ad and in any emails. Cash is king, also IRL pickup.

Sounds like he's swapped chit out and is looking to get yours for free.

When I sell something like that I put idenifying marks on is so I know if chit's been tampered with and take photos of that and any serial numbers.

When I buy something used on fb market I do my due diligence in assuring its working before I pay. This isn’t Walmart or Amazon, you’re under no obligation to refund this dude, used crap is sold as-is. May as well try returning chit to a yard sale.
